Sofia Coppola completely revolutionized the female gaze. She's not afraid to create her own gritty, feminine color palettes, and she pairs lush textures with cigarettes and artfully messy rooms. Films like Marie Antoinette, The Bling Ring, and Priscilla are dreamy and moody, which *totally* explains why Sofia Coppola was actually approached to direct the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn.
"We had one meeting, and it never went anywhere," she tells Rolling Stone. "I thought the whole imprinting-werewolf thing was weird. The baby. Too weird! But part of the earlier Twilight could be done in an interesting way."
We totally agree — and that's why we used AI to reimagine our favorite Twilight settings in the style of a Sofia Coppola movie. Let's do it!
1. The Cullen House

So much of the Twilight saga celebrates the beauty of Washington (even if Forks is the rainiest part of the state), and this image captures the idea that there's more for Bella to discover. Plus, it definitely translates the magical quality of the Cullen family.
2. The Cullens' Living Room

Considering the Cullens have lived so many lifetimes, it only makes sense that their home would be full of eclectic collections and special mementos. But in our opinion, Esme would also infuse the space with timeless touches that'll still look good in a hundred years!
3. Bella Swan's Bedroom

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to reimagine Bella Swan's room as a Sofia Coppola movie set. Her characters' bedrooms are always iconic! Even though Bella's room in the original film was more toned down, we could totally see Sofia incorporating her signature feminine yet unique flair. Flowers, antique frames, plenty of candles — more is more, baby.
4. La Push Beach

La Push, Washington is the home of the Quileute Tribe, and is also where Bella and her friends take a surfing trip in Twilight. Overall, the scene in the film is moody and a little bit eerie as Bella finds out about the history between the Cullens (and all vampires, really) and the Quileutes. A pastel aesthetic overlay would have provided even more contrast to the scene.
5. The Meadow

The meadow is one of the most beautiful places in Forks, and after creating our own version of the grass and wildflowers, we want to go more than ever. It provides a romantic backdrop for Edward and Bella throughout Twilight, and it's totally giving Marie Antoinette.
6. Mimi's School of Dance

Any Twilight fan will remember that the first movie's final battle takes place in an empty Mimi's School of Dance. The knowledge that dance forms like ballet are graceful and poised underscores the entire fight in a very interesting way, and giving the space pastel lighting would make the scene even more powerful.
