ThirdLove Is Adding 24 New Bra Sizes and the Waitlist Already Has 1.3 Million People
Ever since bursting onto the scene as the first app to accurately measure your exact bra size, ThirdLove has revolutionized the bra shopping game, removing so much of the frustration that comes with trying to find a supportive, comfortable, and stylish bra that actually fits well. And now, they’re upping the ante, because the brand is adding 24 new bra sizes to its already impressive lineup. We have all the details here.
As more and more brands work towards size inclusivity, ThirdLove is introducing a whopping 24 new sizes, now featuring bras up to a 48-band size, and cups AA through H, including hard-to-find half cup sizes. This means that the intimates brand now offers a total of 70 sizes, which is fantastic given that most lingerie retailers feature fewer than 40.
The new sizes will be available in ThirdLove’s best-selling bra, the 24/7 Classic Perfect Coverage Bra ($68) in seven shades, including five of the popular naked shades, which are “designed to match an array of skin tones,” according to a press release.
Of the new offerings, ThirdLove’s co-CEO and co-founder Heidi Zak said, “Speaking to women who told me that our company didn’t make a bra for them was painful to hear. Women were rightfully upset that we didn’t carry their size. That’s why we’ve invested substantial resources to expand our size offerings. ThirdLove’s ethos is to have a bra for every woman, to help every woman feel confident every day of her life.”
And it seems the company has plans in the works to become even more size inclusive, with Zak adding, “This is just the beginning; we’ll be launching more sizes and styles in the future.” The demand is clear given that there is already an extensive waitlist of 1.3 million women. But don’t fear, you can still score your preferred style. According to a brand spokeswoman, the waitlist accrued through two avenues: The brand did a beta test over a year ago, so many added their names to the list once items sold out. Secondly, consumers who tried ThirdLove’s Fit Finder quiz were able to sign up for sizes even if ThirdLove didn’t initially offer them. Well… now they do!
The brand is also partnering with Justina Blakeney, a designer and body positive advocate, to show that all women deserve a bra that they feel good in. So there’s no “plus-size” label on the new sizes.
As Zak added, “Words matter. At ThirdLove your size is your size. Who are we to tell a woman her size is in a different category from the size of the woman sitting next to her? These kinds of derogatory terms have no place in a company that makes products for women.”
