This Brand New Shadow Palette Will Morph You into a Mermaid AND Help You Give Back
The only thing we love more than a kick-ass beauty product is a kick-ass beauty product with a purpose, like this Urban Decay eyeshadow primer (the proceeds go to the brand’s Ultraviolet Edge initiative), or literally any mascara on the market — the leftover brushes can be sent into a wildlife refugee center to help clean animals’ fur.
KG Beauty is the latest company to make our hearts skip a beat, with its new The Mermaid Palette ($36). Not only is this nine-piece shadow box inspired by our favorite mystical beings (sorry, unicorns), but $1 of every single sale will go toward helping California’s Marine Mammal Center. For those not in the know, the mammal center is a safe haven for rescued marine creatures (the facility has reportedly helped 20,000 animals since 1975!) and a research hub for ocean conservation — a beyond-worthy cause if we’ve ever heard one.

Fans of the beauty brand helped choose the charity, and are scooping up the mostly vegan and cruelty-free palette in droves — there were only 100 pre-order spots left as of yesterday, so you’ll have to act quickly to get your hands on the goods.

After getting a sneak peek at the swatches, it’s certainly not hard to see why — not only are each of the nine included colors *highly* pigmented with a touch of sheen for added oomph, but they’ve got some pretty clever names to boot (Vitamin Sea, anyone?). In addition to the aforementioned deep sea shade of blue, we’re also digging Fintastic (a ravishing electric green) and You Can Call Me on My Shell Phone (a bold, lively purple).
