From the completely epic performance Jennifer Lopez gave to that Meghan Trainor + Charlie Puth makeout sesh, there was *so much* to take in during last night’s American Music Awards. While the performances definitely didn’t disappoint, let’s be real: All eyes were really on stars’ styles, and while the gowns were ah-mazing, we zoned in on red carpet beauty, specifically the trend from last night worn by everyone from Kendall Jenner to JLo that will make lazy girls very happy.
The topknot had a major moment at this year’s AMAs. That’s right, a styled *bun* was the hairstyle of choice for some of the industry’s biggest names. At first, a high bun might not be an obvious choice for the red carpet, but it actually makes total sense: Your hair is elegantly pulled out of the way, it’s timeless and it lets the focus shift from your ‘do to your face, dress and accessories. Here are some of our fave A-list versions of the super simple ‘do from the AMAs.
JENNIFER LOPEZ’S AMAS HAIR
Who’s *not* still dying over Jennifer Lopez’s performance of a lifetime last night?! Also on full display was her tight topknot that let the intricate details of her dress shine through.
KENDALL JENNER’S AMAS HAIR
Kendall looked fierce on the red carpet with her loose topknot. She fully embraced letting a few pieces fall out — the casual feel of this style looked great with her freshly snipped, wispy bangs.
ARIANA GRANDE’S AMAS HAIR
While accepting the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Female, Ariana Grande debuted a fresh ‘do — earlier in the night, her hair had been down (and looked amazing). Her thick topknot looked like it was twisted, which gave it an interesting effect.
CHRISTINA MILIAN’S AMAS HAIR
Christina Milian let her gorgeous face take the spotlight on the red carpet thanks to her tightly bound topknot. It looked sleek and shiny — basically, the ideal topknot.
KARRUCHE TRAN’S AMAS HAIR
Karrueche Tran rocked one of the raddest topknots we spotted all night — check out those braids underneath! In. Love.
