Eyebrows are currently undergoing something of a revolution. They’ve gone from thoughtless facial features, to a definite point of emphasis. First came the bold brow movement where full, bushy brows were all the rage. Then, with the emergence of rainbow hair came the arrival of dyed, colorful brows (case in point: Kaley Cuoco’s new look). And now Amber Rose is bringing attention to a whole new realm of eye-raising possibility: bleached brows.
The model and style icon has recently taken to Instagram to share the wild new look. Amber’s short, platinum blonde hair has been her trademark feature for some time now, but those bleached brows are a new addition to the bold look. While lightened brows can easily make it appear as though you have no brows at all, the look is totally working with Amber’s skin tone. Thinking about embracing the style? Check out how the look turned out on these four other celebs.
1. Miley Cyrus: Never one to shy away from a crazy new beauty look, Miley rocked bleached brows back in 2013. It looks kind of terrifying in this car selfie, but the style is much less scary in this W Magazine editorial. (Photo via @mileycyrus)
2. Katy Perry: Perry recently embraced her inner David Bowie in a cover shoot for Wonderland. In addition to sleek, slicked back hair she also rocked some lightened brows. Unlike Miley’s look, Perry’s brows are super blonde, but not quite invisible. Try something like this if you’re not quite ready to go all in. (Photo via @katyperry)
3. Chloë Sevigny: Like most fashion movements, actress Chloë Sevigny was way ahead of the crowd with this trend. She rocked bleached brows to a movie premiere way back in 2003. (Photo via Amanda Edwards/Getty)
4. Kim Kardashian: While Kim and the rest of the Kardashian clan are typically known for their jet black hair, Kim chose to temporarily try something different. We’re not sure if the look is super dramatic or if it just appears that way because she’s posing with the Queen of bold eyebrows, Ms. Cara Delevingne. (Photo via @kimkardashian)
