5-Must DL Apps This Week: The Coolest Wall Art App Ever + More!

As we creep ever closer to that big ball dropping, it’s time to prep for the new year. Yes, that means the inevitable resolution-making, like getting organized, learning a new skill or saving more moola, but it can also mean upgrading certain areas of your life, big baller style! This week’s must-download apps are new, cool and do a little bit of all of those things, so pop some champagne (too soon?) and get DLing!

1. N3twork: With a Tinder-like swipe, you can curate your very own TV network filled with viral videos and interesting clicks from around the web. Recommendations for your new age Netflix queue pour in Pandora style, as this app gets to know you and what you like to watch better the more you use it. Yes, this would all be well and good if I was describing an app meant to stay put on your phone, but the best part about N3twork is that it understands where you like to binge watch these days and casts to Apple TV or Chromecast.

Cost: Free on iOS

2. Saatchi Art: There are only maybe a few things we love more than we love wall artwashi tape, Beyoncé, washi tape wall art in Beyoncé’s likeness. If you’re in the wall art appreciation club along with us AND looking to update your own four+ walls with a masterpiece, this genius app will help you do it with just a couple taps. Shop for art within the app and then virtually preview it on your walls before pressing purchase with Saatchi’s “View In A Room” feature. Don’t mind if we do! No more guesswork or wondering how that piece will look above your couch or next to your bed. You can see it, snap a pic and even send it to your roomies or boo for a second opinion.

Cost: Free on iOS

3. Robinhood: Making any money-related New Year’s Resolutions this year? You probably should be. If you don’t have a pile of credit card debt to work through and you’re already rocking your savings account, it might be time to think about investing some money and not have a panic attack when you do. Robinhood is an app that wants to shepherd you through the stock market in the least intimidating way possible. This mobile brokerage for the modern generation makes trading more accessible than it even was for Leo in Wolf of Wall Street. You don’t have to pay a fee per trade, there’s no minimum on accounts and the UX is so much nicer than anything you’d expect.

Cost: Free on iOS

4. Picocious: You know what happens when you give your friends your phone (pictures that can never see the light of Facebook are taken), but what happens when you let your little one go loose on your camera roll? We’re all about inspiring creativity in the masses, and this is a fun way to do that with just your iPhone’s camera and kiddo’s imagination that takes them off their games and on adventures. You send your budding Annie Leibovitz on photo-based missions and she can return with pics that live on the app and *not* in your camera roll unless you want to keep them. Come on, help your kids grow up in a world where cameras are for more than just selfies.

Cost: $.99 on iOS

5. SplashID: Who knew, when you were making up your very first password back in the day for your AIM account and/or your first @aol.com email, that some day you would need many, many more. So many, in fact, that you would need a system devoted to deciphering and cataloguing them. It’s a hack filled world (and not the good kind) these days so may we recommend a password manager that will store all your secret codes in one place and let you know if you need to change “password123” to “T3dDyB3@r007”? You’re welcome.

Cost: Free on Android and iOS, Pro version will set you back $10

Each year, Pinterest forecasts the hottest trends that will hit their platform in the following year through Pinterest Predicts. Per their expertise, “grandpacore” is on the docket for 2024, and TBH, I’m so here for it. Here’s how the all-mighty Pinterest puts it:

“An industry often defined by the “new” and “young”—fashion—will soon be home to an archetype as old as it is expressive and eccentric: Grandfathers. Think retro streetwear, chic cardigans and customized clothing as Gen Z and Boomers lead the growth in searches for “grandpa style,” as well as “eclectic clothing style” and “retro streetwear.’”

I knew throwback fashion was in, but I would have never guessed our grandfathers would become the greatest outfit inspo for 2024. Regardless of how eclectic grandpacore came about, I’m all for an aesthetic that prioritizes comfort. After all, grandpa-ified styles are often oversized and made of oh-so cozy materials.

Pinterest noted that the “eclectic grandpa” aesthetic is categorized by garments like retro streetwear, chic cardigans and customized clothing. From my experience, these are all things that you can track down at your closest thrift store, Depop shop, or local vintage reseller (bonus points if you're picking straight from your grandpa's closet). To get the eclectic grandpa vibes flowing, scroll for even more fashion inspo to help you get the look and be extremely on-trend in the new year.

Quirky, Patched, Customized Jackets

Ecorr Classic Chain Embroidery Stitch Corduroy Jacket

The embroidery detail on this denim jacket give it a customized impression, perfect for achieving that eclectic grandpa look. Go the extra mile for the aesthetic by embroidering your own!

Blank NYC Crash Course Bomber Jacket

This bomber jacket is just what my grandpa would wear in the 90s (honestly, he'd probably even wear it now). I love the contrasting materials since they make the piece more casual, while the elastic collar and wrist bands speak to its comfort.

Alex Mill Quinn Quilted Nylon Jacket

Barn coats are so on-point for the eclectic grandpa aesthetic. For a chicer take on the style (sometimes you want to dress it up!), this quilted jacket is fitted with just the right amount of elegant detail in the pockets and buttons.

BDG Dex Canvas Workwear Jacket

Anything workwear is gonna help you pull off the trend – just make sure it's colorful! This blue number hits eclectic grandpa right on the nail with an understated corduroy feel and a very cute embroidered lapel.

Picture Organic Nury Cotton Corduroy Puffer Jacket

This upcoming trend is simply perfect for winter outfits since it prioritizes layering and oversized comfort. Bundle up in this corduroy piece worn alongside colorful pants for an easy grandpacore ensemble.

Oversized Polo Shirts

We The Free Clean Prep Polo

Polo shirts are one of my favorite things to hunt down at the thrift store, but they can get repetitive quickly. This shirt refreshes the trend with a unique striped pattern and a cozy open neckline.

Madewell Variegated Rib Long Sleeve Boxy Polo

The collar on this piece is what gives it that vintage charm. I love these vertical stripes that add some trendy edge.

Gap Modern Polo Shirt

Another fun take on the polo, this shirt from Gap is complete with a funky color combo and color-blocked sleeves to build your grandpacore look.

Wide-Leg, Baggy Jeans + Corduroy

PacSun Eco Light Indigo Asymmetrical Low Rise Baggy Jeans

Baggy, wide-leg pants work best on the bottom for the eclectic grandpa trend. For denim, aim to go for light washes like this one – they channel the most popular styles of the 1980s/90s.

BDG Logan Corduroy Baggy Buckle Pant

Again, corduroy shines!

Gap Extra High-Waisted Pleated Taylor Wide-Leg Trouser Suit Pants

Trousers are another easy piece that form the foundation for your grandpacore outfits. I like this pair in particular because of the tailored waist pleating – it just gives the pants more formality, so they're wearable for any occasion.

BDG Mae Corduroy Cargo Pant

These cords are as comfy as pants get, with a hassle-free waistband and plenty of pocket space. Grandpa would def approve.

Chunky Cardis, Sweaters, + Pullovers

Madewell Waffle-Knit V-Neck Cardigan

In my opinion, there's never a bad time to wear a chunky sweater, so I'm so glad the eclectic grandpa aesthetic includes cozy knits like this one! Whether you choose to go with a cardi or a pullover, just make sure it's thick. The more textured, the better!

We The Free As If Pullover

This bright blue pullover will have eyes all over your look!

Urban Renewal Remnants Wide Stripe Chenille Cropped Sweater

Color-blocked pieces are perfect for pulling off grandpacore. I love this warm-toned, pinky sweater since you can pretty much wear it year-round.

Maeve Collared Cardigan Sweater

There's no doubt that this patterned sweater is eclectic. Keep an eye out for funky, mismatched patterns like this when you're building your grandpacore 'fit.

Urban Outfitters Celin Flower-Button Cardigan

Bring on the color, I say! Though it's not exactly color-blocked, this cardi is quirky enough with a rainbow knit and floral buttons.

Eclectic Grandpa Sneakers

New Balance Gender Inclusive 530 Running Shoe

Dad sneakers FTW! These New Balances are a must for any eclectic grandpa ensemble, but they're versatile to make any aesthetic last.

Adidas Samba OG Shoes

These lace-ups are the"It" girl sneaker of this year, and I really don't see them going anywhere for 2024. Their sportiness brings forth a stylish kick to the grandpacore trend!

Chinese Laundry Desert Dog Casual Sneaker

Pastels will always draw the eye in, and with this shoe, they're blocked in the most stylish way.

Wild Fable Lola Lace-Up Sneakers

Since the eclectic grandpa trend calls for every part of your outfit to be comfortable, sneakers with enough bottom support will work perfectly.

Reebok Club C Revenge Sneakers

These chunky sneakers are comfy and chic at the same time, and will also last you past next year's emerging trend.

Mix And Match Art Styles

Think beyond the print and consider original artwork as part of your lasting art collection. Combining different art forms not only adds visual interest but also lets you explore unique textures, colors, and dimensions. Pair a thought-provoking painting with a whimsical sculpture to create a collection that sparks conversation. There’s creativity in building your art collection – have fun with it! The key is finding an element, perhaps a color palette or a theme, that ties them all together.

Set The Mood With Placement

Give your artwork the space it deserves to make it really shine. Landscape pieces in the dining room can create a serene vibe while bright and energetic artwork in a home office can inspire creativity. Let your art guide the mood and function of a room. Consider size, style and theme of the artwork when deciding where to display it too. Large, bold pieces can make an amazing focal point in a living room while smaller pieces grouped together make a great gallery wall. Singulart will create a collection based on your preferences to help you curate the perfect gallery wall too. Browse their curated picks too!

Play With Color + Texture

Consider your existing color scheme at home and choose art pieces that complement or contrast them. Bold, vibrant artwork can breathe new life into a neutral room, while textured pieces can add depth and playfulness to a minimal design. Want to give a piece you love the spotlight? Enhance the impact of your art with accent lights or natural light (just make sure to protect it as directed).

Gasa (Rainbow) by Kurtis Brand, United States, 2022 Cotton on Canvas, 50x48in

Rotate And Refresh

What’s fun about a personal art collection is that you can swap it in a new space for an instant refresh. Consider changing art with the seasons or moving art from one room to the next to give it more exposure in a high-traffic space.

Once you’ve begun to curate art pieces that resonate with you, it’s essential to take good care of your purchases so they’ll stand the test of time and continue to bring you joy.

Here are a few tips on how to preserve your art for a lifetime:

  1. Avoid hanging artwork in direct sunlight or in a space with extreme fluctuations in temperature. Sunlight can cause fading overtime, so explore UV-filtering framing options and be mindful of how the light can change in your space throughout the year.
  2. Keep a microfiber cloth or soft, clean brush on hand for routine dusting and cleaning of your art. Avoid any chemical cleaning solutions or water that could damage the work.
  3. Research the art trends associated with your work and learn more about the creator behind the art so you can take pride in the pieces you’ve curated and feel super knowledgeable about them.

Treat your art with love and care, and let your imagination run wild to create a collection that is truly a reflection of you and your creativity!

We are head over heels in love with all things Bridgerton. The relationships, the characters, the Gossip Girl-meets-Jane Austen storylines. After waiting far too long for a sneak peek of season 3, Netflix *finally* released exclusive images that continue to have us shipping Polin (Penelope and Colin, of course.). Not only that, but Netflix shared more images from the upcoming season and it looks like things will be heating up in the new season!

Here's the latest season 3 Bridgerton news, as well as some fan theories that might just carry us into season 4.

Will Penelope and Eloise happily reunite in season 3 of "Bridgerton?"

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

In an exclusive image obtained by Entertainment Weekly, it seems like former best friends Penelope and Eloise are having a conversation. Judging from the expression on Penelope's face and Eloise's folded arms, it appears that things are still tense between them. Jess Brownwell, Bridgerton's show runner told the outlet, "I'm rooting for them," while admitting their friendship breakup is, "...a chance for the two of them to grow and learn about themselves..."

It's interesting to see if Eloise will remain icy towards Penelope after the abrupt end of their friendship in Season 2.

When is Bridgerton season 3 is coming out?

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

Netflix announced on December 12 that season 3 of Bridgerton will release in two parts in 2024: Part I on May 16 and Part II on June 13th. Until then, catch up on the first two seasons, as well as the prequel series Queen Charlotte, on Netflix!

What is the new season of Bridgerton about?

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

After giving up on whether Colin could ever return her feelings, Penelope decides to find a husband who will give her the independence she needs as Lady Whistledown. But when Colin offers to help her along the way, and his help begins to pay off, he realizes that his feelings for her might be more than platonic.

Why is Penelope wearing more blues and greens than her staple yellows?

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

It's clear throughout the first season that each family has their own color representing the journey ahead of them — the beloved Bridgertons wear sophisticated blues and lavenders while the Featheringtons wear loud yellows as they try to climb the social ladder.

This is very intentional, and throughout season 3 we'll see Penelope transition from her staple yellow dresses into more greens and blues, a symbol of her union with Colin Bridgerton. Costume designer Sophie Canale confirmed this color theory to People, sharing that the green dress Penelope wears in episode four was a nod to her future relationship with Colin. After all, green *is* a mix of yellow and blue.

In the beginning of the season, Penelope and her mother are both wearing green instead of their usual lemon yellow. But instead of a pastel green like her previous dress, this one is very vibrant and tinged with a lot of warm tones. Even if Penelope is growing, the ties to her family are still strong.

Considering season two ended with Penelope getting into a fight with Eloise — and overhearing Colin say he would never court her — it makes sense that Penelope would turn more into her family than ever before. However, in an on-set interview with This Morning, Coughlan wore a dress that appears to be a muted seafoam, meaning it features more blue than yellow.

If Penelope wears lime at the beginning of the season and seafoam at the end, it's a perfect representation of her emotional arc. She moves from feeling overshadowed by her family to being embraced by Colin (hopefully sooner rather than later!!), and it creates a whole new color just for her.

Penelope is, and always will be, a mix of both Featherington and her love for Colin. Good thing for us, Canale takes us on that journey with her.

Will Benedict still play a role in season 3 of Bridgerton?

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

The third book in the Bridgerton series, An Offer From A Gentleman, focuses on Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Beckett. Even though the third season of the show will revolve around Colin and Penelope, fans are anticipating an important plot point could still happen this year.

"I'm reading Benedict's book, and between the ball the Bridgertons threw where he met Sophie and when they meet again there's a gap of two years, enough for the unfolding of Penelope and Colin's [arc]," lovin_da_dix says on Reddit. "My theory is that the Bridgertons will throw the ball this season, we would briefly see Sophie and the writers would carry the storyline through season 4."

Not only would a ball give us an excuse to see Colin and Penelope dance again, but it would also set up the next season of the show! That is some serious script planning. But considering the characters in Bridgerton love throwing a party, and a ball would fit right in with the book's timeline, this is one theory we could totally see coming true.

Does Daphne appear in season 3 of Bridgerton?

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

No, Daphne will not be in season 3 of Bridgerton. Actress Phoebe Dynevor revealed she wouldn't return to the series at the Sundance Film Festival inJanuary of 2023.

Which couple will season 3 of Bridgerton be about?

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

Bridgerton season 3 will focus on Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. This is the first time fans will get to see a couple they've been rooting for since the beginning, and I can't wait!

Here's Your First Look At Season 3 Of Bridgerton

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) — who moonlights as town gossip Lady Whistledown — touted pale blue dresses that complemented her red hair, styled in soft waves.

"Do contain your excitement," the show tweeted, adding on Instagram, "The author is about to become the main character."

And according to Nicola, fans are in for a wild ride. The actress described her season as "magical," "romantic" and "quite scandalous" while speaking at Tudum's Brazil event, per Shondaland.

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

Colin doesn't look too shabby either.

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

(Hopefully) a happy couple in the works!

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

...Or not as happy as we thought.

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

It looks like the Bridgertons just caught wind of shocking news.

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

It looks like the loving couple are still enjoying marital bliss in season 3 of Bridgerton.

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

Colin's expression makes us want to ask him, "Why so serious?"

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

Colin may be showing Penelope potential suitors she can engage with.

Image via Liam Daniel/Netflix

Something is really concerning Lady Violet, but Francesca (played by Hannah Dodd who replaces Ruby Stokes) and Hyacinth seem to be taking it in stride.

Keep up to date with our Bridgerton news and let us know in the comments what you're looking forward to seeing in the new season!
