Benjamin Moore Just Released 2017’s Hottest Color and It Is FIERCE
Neutrals reigned supreme this year, but the folks at Benjamin Moore Paints just released the top shades that they expect to trend in 2017, and they’re dark, dramatic and all kinds of fab. The number one color for 2107 is — *drumroll please* — Shadow. It’s a dark, smokey amethyst purple that’s a far cry from the Scandi pastels everyone’s been pinning. According to Benjamin Moore, after a year of all-white-everything, they were craving something with more “feeling.” And that feeling is *v* mysterious.
According to Ellen O’Neill, the creative director for Benjamin Moore, this moody purple is the master of ambiance. She encourages color-lovers to “indulge your mysterious side. Let Shadow set the mood.” Hmm, still not sure what to do with purple? The company has also shared a palette of 22 colors that pair beautifully with this statement hue, including other jewel tones like dark burgundy, grandfather clock brown and the aptly named guacamole green.
According to Benjamin Moore, Shadow is a color that can evolve with its surroundings as a sophisticated accent or, “it can bring energy to a space,” depending on how you use it. Watch Benjamin Moore’s video revealing their color picks below.
