Netflix and Chill Like a Princess in These Crocheted Disney Blankets
Chilly nights just got a whole lot more magical! Carol Hladik, a crochet maven with a penchant for princesses, just upped your Netflix and chill game with knitwear every Disney fan needs in their life: Disney princess gown blankets.
For the low, low price of $5.50 per pattern (and a little crochet know-how), you can morph yourself into what appears to be Belle, Rapunzel, or Cinderella while you’re binge-watching all your favorite Mouse-approved flicks on Netflix (it IS the exclusive streaming hub, after all).
As Hladik told Cosmopolitan, she got the idea for the cozy AF gown covers after a February foot surgery landed her bedridden — er, rather, couchridden. “I thought it would be nice to have a fun blanket to make me feel better,” she explained. “I love princesses and big, poufy skirts. Even when I got married, I wanted that big skirt. I was playing around and decided to create something fun.” Fun, indeed — Hladik’s blankets have been an instant hit, taking off on Etsy with more than 7,000 orders.
If you’re more of an Ariel gal, you’re in luck — Hladik says she’ll soon release a mermaid pattern to her lineup, along with plenty of other ideas she currently has brewing.
Don’t know how to crochet? No problem: We can teach you! You’ll have the satisfaction of creating something yourself AND a magical new cover-up. It’s a win-win!
