Who doesn’t love unwinding after a long day with a nice glass of red wine? It’s the perfect tool to take the edge off, relax a bit, pump up a spa night or hey, even cook. But what no one likes is feeling like they have to burn off all those calories the next day. And now, according to a study conducted by the University of Alberta, it turns out you might not have to.
Yup, you read that right. A glass of wine = an hour at the gym, and we’re not talking about running on the treadmill. We’re talking a full on glass of the sauce can replace your workout sesh. Just let that sink in for a minute. It’s okay if you need to go grab a drink to cheers the discovery.
Lead researcher Jason Dyck told My Daily that these findings could help those who want to exercise, but can’t because of existing medical or health conditions. The resveratrol could even potentially mimic exercise for these individuals, improving the effects of the minimal amounts of exercise they can accomplish.
