Gwyneth Paltrow certainly isn’t shy about giving us a peek into her GOOP-ish lifestyle. From moon-dust-filled morning smoothies to her $40,000 Airbnb rental, she’s living one heck of a luxe life. Continuing to fuel our WTF fascination with her over-the-top living sitch, we’ve been given a look at her OMG huge NYC apartment. With a strict decorating scheme and an “ethereal” aim, it’s not at all what you’re expecting.
Sharing a pic of her NYC digs on GOOP, rumors are buzzing that Gwyn is putting the plush pad on the market soon, which may be why we’re getting this super-stylized look at where the Iron Man co-star chooses to spend her days while in the Big Apple.
As seen on Instagram, Gwyneth enjoys the “family space” that’s more mansion-like than bachelorette-pad, occasionally posting pics of her smiling sweetly with her kids or posing before heading out to a Hollywood event.
But the most noticeable feature — other than the luxury and size — is no doubt the color scheme. Or rather, the lack of color. White, cream, light grays and an even lighter lavender combine with other shades of, well, white.
Covering every wall, every piece of furniture and nearly every surface visible, Gwyneth apparently wanted to “channel this ethereal palette.” Ethereal is right. How the heck can she keep that place so spotless? Where are the muddy kid-sized footprints? Where are the clumps of dog hair? Where are the red wine stains on the sofa? Yeesh.
Designed in part with Roman and Williams, the Tribeca apartment “floats above the cobblestone streets like a pale, dreamy cloud. Pastel silks, hand-embroidered wallpapers, and cool swaths of marble punctuate the space, which balances centuries-old techniques and antiques with a confident, breezy modernism.” With the occasional metal or wood piece added in for, um, variety, it’s a strict scheme that only helps to make the large space look even larger.
We have to wonder, is she trading in this space for something a little bigger?
