Kim Kardashian’s $11 Drugstore Beauty Hack Should Be Your Winter Skin Saver
Ahhh, the winter skin blues: Skin that’s so extra-super-dry it can’t seem to soak up any moisture you feed it and dullness that’s so bland it rivals the gloomy weather outside. Bleh! This is when a winter-specific routine could be just what your skin needs to get out of its cold-weather rut. Everyone’s ideal skincare regimen is different (no two people are the same, duh), but serious moisture is key for everyone during this time of year — and a big-time celeb shared which super affordable drugstore staple item she uses to keep her skin hydrated when the temps dip.
Kim Kardashian let us all in on a little beauty secret she swears by: Using Bio-Oil ($11), a non-greasy oil that’s made for scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone, on her skin wherever it needs an extra boost of hydration, and it’s a really, really good idea. This stuff is so moisture-packed that your skin will instantly look and feel hydrated — so much so that you’ll only want to use this stuff at night so it has ample time to soak in (trust me, I’ve used Bio-Oil in the morning before doing my makeup and it is NOT a good idea).
Beyond using it on your face, you can slather this stuff on anywhere you’re experiencing dryness, like Kim does. I personally love using it on my legs after I shave in the winter because it’s lighter than most body oils but still moisturizes better than any lotion I’ve used. It also makes a great treatment for your hands (bye, dry cuticles!) when the weather gets so cold your skin can crack (eeeek). This inexpensive, multi-purpose beauty product is one that you should scoop NOW before it gets any colder and keep it handy in your beauty cabinet year round, because dry skin is *never* cute. Take it from Kim.
