KJ Apa Hilariously Photobombed ‘Riverdale’ Costars Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse at the Teen Choice Awards
The 2018 Teen Choice Awards took place at the Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 12, and as Riverdale swept the show with nine wins, its stars got up to some meme-worthy antics in the audience.
A photographer snapped costars (and low-key IRL couple) Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart sitting side-by-side in the crowd, and while we swooned over Sprouse’s white blazer and chambray shirt and Reinhart’s sequined pink gown, we also couldn’t help but notice that fellow Riverdale cast member KJ Apa was sitting directly behind them — and pulling off a classic photobomb.
Apa himself posted the pic, with a zoomed-in version of his grimacing face, captioning it, “No one is safe.” Based on the unknowing looks on their faces, Sprouse and Reinhart — who, until recently, have been notoriously private about their off-screen romance — had no idea what was transpiring behind them.
Apa’s fun at the Teen Choice Awards didn’t stop there — he was also seen tackling a person in a giant panda suit as the cast looked on and laughed.
Earlier in the evening, Apa lost out to Sprouse in the Best TV Actor: Drama category. He hardly seemed to mind, though, as he joined the whole crew on stage to accept their award for Best TV Series: Drama.
