London's calling!
Helen Mirren & Pierce Brosnan's Gripping Crime Drama 'MobLand' Renewed For Season 2

My parents have been quick to praise MobLand as one of the greatest pieces of television gold to ever grace their screens. They practically forced me to cancel all my (important) plans, so I could sit down and watch the critically acclaimed series with them, starring Hollywood legends Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren.
At first, I was skeptical. Although I adore the actors, and trust that my parents have the best taste when it comes to quality television, I found myself slightly turned off by the premise. Another violent crime drama? Isn’t our current political climate violent enough, without us having to watch such brutality for entertainment purposes on top of all that?
But it wasn’t until I started watching the series that I realized how much my parents were right. MobLand truly is prestige television, with both Mirren and Brosnan offering some of their most nuanced performances to date. With brilliant cinematography, gripping plotlines, and unforgettable acting chops that are worthy of all the Emmys, I immediately knew that I was in the midst of experiencing peak television while watching.
“Amazing!” I remember exclaiming to my folks once we wrapped up season 1. “Now, can we binge season 2?” But their disappointed expressions informed me that there was no second season of the hit series.
Until now.

What is 'MobLand' about?
For those who still haven’t seen the series yet, and are debating whether or not to add it to your watch list, here is a full synopsis of the crime drama, which reads as follows: “MobLand is about the Harrigans and Stevensons, two warring London crime families who clash in a kill-or-be-killed battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza (Hardy), the street-smart ‘fixer’ as dangerous as he is handsome, who knows too well where loyalties lie when opposing forces collide. As kingdom goes up against kingdom, lines will be crossed — and the only saving grace is a bet-your-life guarantee: family above everything.”

Is 'MobLand' a spinoff?
Interestingly enough, MobLand was supposed to be a spinoff show of the hit Showtime series, Ray Donovan. I’ll never forget how much I adored the aforementioned series, starring Liev Schreiber. But as cool as it would have been to get an RD spinoff, I much prefer MobLand as its own unique, original show.
