Donald Glover, renowned for his role in the psychological mindbender Atlanta, and Maya Erskine of the raunchy comedy Pen15 are gearing up for an explosive debut in the highly-anticipated TV reboot of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
This thrilling TV adaptation draws loose inspiration from the steamy 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. With a few slight changes to the original idea, the series takes the original romantic-comedy plot to uncharted heights. Unlike the married couple concealing their spy lives from each other in the film, the show's protagonists, John and Jane, find themselves ball and chained together by a mysterious agency after forsaking their born identities.
But what is the cost of a clean slate? Prime Video's official release statement captures the tension that lies ahead: "When the cracks begin to show through, they must fight to stay together. Because in this marriage, divorce is not an option."
