In 2016, “Netflix and chill” will actually mean watching Netflix and, you know, chilling. Yesterday, Netflix Head of Content Ted Sarandos announced that everyone’s favorite binge-watching enabler will be putting out an astonishing 31 original series. That’s right, nearly double the number of shows the company released this year.

If you’re still trying to make your way through Jessica Jones, Netflix is giving you even MORE reasons to step up your streaming game in the new year. In addition to all the new shows, the company reportedly plans on releasing 10 feature films, 12 documentaries and 30 children’s programs.

As Engadget reports: “Sarandos argues that since original programming grants Netflix full exclusivity and global rights forever, they’re a better investment than haggling for outside content. Such a change in thinking could prove vital to the company’s continued international expansion.”

Get it, Netflix. In the meantime, we’ll be stocking up on cute cozywear to rock on the sofa.
