This Celeb Lip Color Trend Breaks a Big Winter Beauty Rule
Tis the season to pull out all of your favorite long layers and cozy up as you transition your wardrobe and beauty routine out of the bright neons into the gem tones and other deeper hues like scarlet red, deep orchid and even navy or black that, stylistically, have been deemed appropriate colors for this time of year. Being a gal that has never been a fan of following the rules, especially in the realm of fashion and beauty, I was ecstatic to see a few high-profile vixens go against the grain and dare to wear a hot pink lipstick to a major event right in the midst of fall.
Actress Diane Kruger and singer Halsey defied fall beauty rules with their lip color at an appearance at the Museum of Modern Art’s 8th Annual Film Benefit earlier this week, each rocking a bright pink hue that normally would be a home-run hit in the spring or summer.
Miss Kruger is effortlessly stunning rocking her messy half top knot paired perfectly with a pearlescent white eyeliner, pop of shimmer white shadow on the inside corners of her eyes, a soft, full brow and, to top it all off, a bright magenta pink semi-matte pucker. The combo of up-in-minutes hair and a bold lip feels insanely of the moment.
Halsey’s rocking a more sophisticated pinup hairstyle, flawless matte skin, full lashes and a matte magenta pink pout that brings a modern, down-to-earth vibe to her retro look, making it unexpected, unique and awe-worthy.
I am SO on board with this move and hope to see more red carpet makeup moments like this unfold this season! Finding a way to turn a standard “don’t” into a total “do” is a sure way to stand out in a crowd. Hats off, ladies!
