Whoa. 😳
Psychological Thriller Show 'Sometimes I Lie' Is The Ultimate Mystery

I have to be honest. When it comes to mystery dramas, one of my biggest pet peeves is when these stories make it abundantly obvious in the first handful of chapters who committed the crime. It makes me not want to finish the story, since I’m already 10 steps ahead. Whatever happened to a mystery that’s actually mysterious? I’m talking genuine twists and turns that will leave me gasping in shock during the moment of the big reveal.
Fortunately, Alice Feeney’s best-selling psychological thriller novel, Sometimes I Lie, does just that. I can honestly say that I had no idea what led up to the tragedy, but by the end, it all made perfect sense. How could I not have seen it coming??
For those who haven’t read the book, here’s a quick summary of what goes down in Sometimes I Lie — and what you need to know about the new TV show.
What is Sometimes I Lie book about?
Sometimes I Lie is terrifyingly gripping right from the very first page. We start off with lead protagonist Amber lying in a hospital bed, as she suffers a state of comatosis. Much to her terror, Amber discovers she cannot open her eyes, nor can she move her muscles. Just lying there, everyone assumes her to be completely unconscious, yet the truth is quite different. As we learn, Amber hasn’t lost her ability to hear, and this becomes a pivotal part of the overall plot.
To add to the harrowing situation, Amber is under the impression that her husband is responsible for her current vegetative state. Intuitively, she believes that because he is no longer in love with her, he had a plan to take her life.
The story narratively jumps from her comatose condition in the hospital to the series of mishaps and clues that ultimately led to her hospitalization. Was it really her husband who committed the crime? Or is the truth a whole lot more complex?
Is Sometimes I Lie a TV series?
Yes, Sometimes I Lie is being turned into a TV show with now Tommy Harper, who is best known for producing the Beetlejuice sequel film.
Who's in the Sometimes I Lie cast?

20th Century Fox Television
Back in 2019, Deadline announced that Scream star Sarah Michelle Gellar would be taking the lead role as the morally ambiguous Amber.
While Gellar would have been a stellar choice for the role, the production ended up letting the project go, and now Gellar will be busy shooting her Buffy the Vampire Slayer sequel series, which is set to air on Hulu in the near future.
As for who will tackle the role of Amber, as well as the rest of the complex cast of characters, we'll have to wait a little longer to find out.
