Well, now he’s back! Netflix is officially developing The Secret of Secrets, a limited series based on an all-new story set in the same world as The Da Vinci Code, and it sounds like everything we want from a Dan Brown thriller.

According to Netflix, the story kicks off with a high-profile murder and spirals into a secret-hunting chase across Europe. Langdon ends up uncovering a hidden truth with the potential to change humanity’s understanding of itself. No pressure or anything.
While the exact plot is still under wraps, and not much is being shared around that, early reports hint at a story that weaves together real history, psychological science, and spiritual mystery—all with Langdon’s signature “how-did-he-figure-that-out-so-fast” logic and a few dramatic standoffs in historic buildings. It’s giving Da Vinci Code energy but with a modern edge.

Casting hasn’t been confirmed yet, which leaves some room for speculation. Will they introduce a new face to play Langdon, or try to bring someone back from previous projects? (Unlikely, since this is younger Langdon territory, but we can dream.)
Either way, whoever takes the role will need to bring a balance of charm, intellect, and that low-key intensity that makes you believe he could decode an ancient manuscript mid-car chase, while also dodging bullets, questioning motives, and unraveling centuries-old conspiracies.
If this sounds familiar, it might be because Peacock tried something similar back in 2021 with The Lost Symbol, but it didn’t exactly land.
Netflix seems to be going bigger and bolder this time, with stronger creative control and the kind of budget that could finally do this character justice on the small screen.
