This Cool Girl British Label Just Dropped a Bridal Line That’s Kind of Incredible
The busiest chunk of bridal season may be behind us, but it’s only paved the way for engagement season to officially commence. In addition to the falling leaves and holiday get-togethers, expect not just a sprinkling of diamond ring Instagram posts but a legitimate flurry of them. And after the initial engagement rush is over, what’s next? Finding the perfect dress, of course.
Bridal fashion week recently came to an end, so we’re starting to get a glimpse of all the white gowns you can expect to see walking down the aisle in 2017 — and there have definitely been some showstoppers sprinkled into the mix. There’s the unexpectedly trendy new lineup from David’s Bridal and the insanely chic debut line from fashion favorite Viktor&Rolf. Adding to the fresh mix: the brand new bridal line from UK cool-kid company Whistles.
The English label, known for chic, understated pieces you might find on the likes of someone like Alexa Chung or Cara Delevingne, just released its first ever bridal collection. Unlike the massive unveiling of David’s Bridal’s 2017 line (which included 40+ styles), Whistles kept their debut line simple: Included in the line-up are six dresses and one jumpsuit. But don’t let the limited number options steer you away. Quality makes up for quantity here.
The showstopper is definitely the one-shouldered lace gown that comes with a built-in cape (pictured above), but to be honest, they all offer a little something special. A strapless, eyelet gown screams “chic backyard wedding,” while the lace, wide-legged jumpsuit is the perfect fit for a chic city hall shindig.
But the best part about this understated collection? The price tag mirrors the minimal style. The pieces range in price from £499 to £699 ($607-851), which is an absolute steal in the bridal world.
The collection will be available beginning in February 2017, online and at the flagship store in London. Shop away, brides-to-be.
