You guys already know this, but we can’t help saying it again. Halloween is our favorite holiday of the whole year. Not only do we get to eat candy all day and all night, but we get to create all sorts of yummy cocktails, creep people out with Dexter-esque decorations, and, oh yeah, DRESS UP!
That’s where you come in. We want to see YOUR costumes! Sure, we’re already running a dog costume contest, but why should people feel left out? :)
To enter, simply press the button above and upload a photo. It’s as simple as that! All of us here at Brit HQ will pick the top 3 winners, each of which will win 2 Brit Kits of their choice. It’s a great way to get start on holiday DIY projects this year. And yes, photos of costumes you make for your kids totally count! :)
Of course, part of what we love about Halloween is seeing all the crazy and creative ideas people come up with. We’ve had a ball rounding up dozens of costume and makeup ideas this year. If you’re still not sure what to do, may we suggest checking out one of these roundups? Or just head to our Costumes Page for everything we’ve got!

If you’re still looking for inspiration, or simply want to giggle at those of us who make this awesome website run, here are a few favorites from our team‘s Halloween archives.
Sarah Palin: Seriously, TWO people here are really good at being Sarah Palin! On the left we’ve got Brit and her husband Dave. And on the right we’ve got Annie and a total stranger! So good.
The Oregon Trail: Who doesn’t have pioneer garb laying around the house?
The Flintstones: Cecelia makes for a great… Wilmaaaaaa!
Mount Rushmore and Carmen Sandiego: Our editor Kate and her boyfriend Chris went for a worldly approach to Halloween a few years ago.
Fifth Element (left): Resident stylist Misty certainly knows how to DIY a solid Halloween costume. This one might require a few last minute trips to the gym, but we’re loving how true it is to the movie.
Jessica Rabbit (right): Rawr! Or what is it that bunnies say? Either way, this smokin’ hot cartoon is even more sizzling in real life.
Wild Things: Carrie’s little ones make an amazing Max and monster from childhood classic, Where the Wild Things Are!
Dead Deer (left): Part of a Big Buck Hunter group costume, NY Brit + Co’er Alex definitely has the deer-in-headlights thing down pat.
Jaguar Meets Flava Flav (right): And in the world of obscure but pretty adorable costumes, we’ve got a hybrid Jaguar meets Flava Flav. Let’s be honest, Francesca just wanted to wear that giant clock necklace.
Geisha: Carrie is looking rather pale here, and we love it!
Twins: You may recognize this from last year’s couple costumes roundup. This features myself and my husband doing our best impression of Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Twins. Great for couples with a big height difference!
All You Really Need is a Feather Boa Wig: Let’s face it, if you make and rock this feather boa wig on Halloween, you will totally win the party. Done and done.
Gangnam Style: How could we not include our favorite costume from last year’s pop culture DIY roundup?
So get on it, and enter our costume contest! Again, we’ll pick the top 3 winners, each of which will win 2 Brit Kits of their choice. It will be a par-DIY! :) We’ll be accepting entries through Tuesday, November 5th at 11:59pm PST.
