Gap Relaunches ’90s Archive Collection With Some Very Famous Faces
Today’s edition of celeb kids that are now models is brought to you by the Gap. To celebrate its limited-edition relaunch of some of its most famous ’90s styles, the brand tapped some very famous offspring of its own models. Because, you know, everything old is cool again and what better way to remind Generation Z of that than to recreate one of its more famous ads?
Called “Generation Gap,” the photo and video feature a bevy of celebrity kids whose parents modeled in Gap ads themselves — and Naomi Campbell (because, of course), who wore the same outfit she modeled 20 years earlier.“It’s an honor to be here, in the same outfit that I wore 20 years ago in my Gap ad,” the supermodel said. “The creativity in the ‘90s is something I’m so grateful that I got to be a part of and to see and to learn from and to draw inspiration from.”
Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis sported a cropped denim jacket similar to her mom’s from days past. Chelsea Tyler, daughter of Steven Tyler, chose a pair of Easy Fit jeans, not unlike the pair her father wore in 1997. Evan Ross, Diana Ross’ son and Ashley Simpson’s husband, went for a sleeveless tee as a nod to his famous mama who wore a simple tank in her ’91 ad. Lizzy Jagger, Jerry Hall’s daughter, in a classic bodysuit that her mom wore in 1991, said it best, “The white t-shirt and jeans look has gone through the decades and is still around.”
The limited-edition collection features those classic t-shirts and tanks, white button-down shirts, sweatshirts, khakis, shorts, logo sweatshirts and the denim that put the brand on the map. Everything goes on sale February 7.
