It鈥檚 Tuesday once again, and time for us to impart some nifty knowledge regarding your fave tech to help simplify your life. Yes, it鈥檚 tech trick of the week time. Not to make a huge understatement or anything, but we know iPhones are pretty smart gadgets. They help you find your way when you鈥檙e lost (thank you, Apple Maps) and there are even apps out there that could save your life. But just like any tool you use over and over again, sometimes you need to sharpen it. If you鈥檝e noticed that, over time, your home button has gotten less and less responsive 鈥 whether it鈥檚 Touch ID or your Home button 鈥 luckily there鈥檚 a quick and easy trick to help you recalibrate it so it鈥檚 as good as new.

weather-app-1

First off, you鈥檒l want to open up one of Apple鈥檚 pre-loaded apps like Stocks, Weather or Compass. In this particular example, we chose Weather (brr, it鈥檚 getting cold in NYC).

power-off-1

Next, you鈥檒l want to hold down that side button until the 鈥淪lide to Power Off鈥 screen appears. But wait! You don鈥檛 want to power off.

weather-app-2

Instead, you鈥檙e going to want to hold down that Home button until the聽power off screen vanishes. You鈥檒l also find that in doing so, you鈥檒l automatically close out the app you were in. In our case, it was the Weather app.

Aaaaand聽voil脿! Your home button should be running as fast as it used to. Told you it was easy ;)
