I converted the Today Show set into an apartment to show how to decorate a small space on a tight budget. Here are my key tips to maximizing your space without dropping a ton of cash:
1. Use multi-functional pieces: You can take a futon or day bed and decorate it with nice blankets and throw pillows to take it from college to classy. Another great hack is to stack suitcases, either thrifted or from eBay, to serve as storage and an end table.
2. Use all your space: Store baskets under your furniture to stash any extra odds and ends that don’t seem to go anywhere else.
3. Don’t be afraid to think outside of the box: I highly encourage off-label usage. ;) Hand towel rings work great for scarves and towel hooks are a perfect place for hanging necklaces. For more jewelry storage, you can even convert a photo frame into a cute accessory holder.
4. Make your own inexpensive decor: Spray paint the insides of mason jars to make vases and use your handy duct tape to hack yourself some chic wall art. Get creative and have fun with it!
