Fans are excited because the adventures of Mel, Jack, Doc, and Hope aren't over yet — not even close! That's right, Netflix renewed Virgin River for season 8...before the season 7 even dropped! What is 'Virgin River' about?

Virgin River follows Mel Monroe, a nurse practitioner who moves to a small town in Northern California from a big city. She ends up falling in love with the local, edgy bartender. At the end of Season 6, the pair had gotten married, and most of Season 7 follows them as newlyweds as they begin to build a family together. Characters Doc and Hope work to save the clinic and the heart of their town.
Who will be in the 'Virgin River' season 8 cast?

Right now, we know that season 7 is set to welcome in some new characters who will also appear in the eighth season. Those new faces include:
- Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) — Victoria, an investigator who comes to town to look at the clinic, but ends up connecting with someone from her past.
- Cody Kearlsey (Riverdale) — Clay, a newbie to the town who is searching for her sister, who has recently broken free from the foster care system.
Aside from that, you can likely expect to see returning faces from previous seasons, including:

Because season 7 hasn't even come out — and will hopefully drop around the end of 2025 — the eighth season probably won't premiere until 2026...and perhaps even further along than that.
