Why This Brand New Mom’s Hospital Photo Just Went Viral
Motherhood is a beautiful thing most of the time. But while we tend to be shown a certain side of the whole pregnancy-to-cute baby continuum, the journey isn’t all rooftop baby bump photo shoots and seamless maternity style. That’s why we’re so pleased when we see people in the public eye, like Chrissy Teigen, get real about the not-so-cute side of the experience. And that’s also why this pic of a brand-new mom in North Carolina is going hella viral this week.
Chances are at least one of your mom pals has shared this pic of 28-year-old mother of two Amanda Bacon. In fact, over 125,000 people have shared the post since it went up on Facebook on Wednesday, clearly identifying their own motherhood experience with Amanda’s real AF caption:
“Motherhood uncensored.
I’m sharing this picture because it’s real. This is motherhood; it’s raw, stunning, messy, and freaking hilarious all rolled into one. Having a baby is a beautiful experience and the realities of postpartum life aren’t spoken enough about. And definitely not photographed enough. Some people probably find this uncomfortable, but why? I seriously don’t get it! It’s probably because this part isn’t talked about. We all should try and educate, empower and embrace every aspect of childbirth, including moments like this. And do it while having a sense of humor. Nothing says welcome to motherhood like an adorable squishy baby and a giant mom diaper. 😜 “
In addition to sharing the post to pieces, fans have left over 100,000 comments in agreement and support. The positive response has encouraged Amanda to start blogging about the little misadventures involved with being a new parent. On her new blog’s Facebook page she writes: “Just be prepared for more honest, blunt, possibly witty (you’ll be the judge of that one), beautiful, informative bits of information on all things motherhood and parenting, from my perspective.”
We honestly cannot wait.
