1923 season one hits Netflix on July 9, 2025. While this is obviously exciting news for those of us constantly flipping through the platform to find our next big binge watch, there is a little bit of a catch. 1923 won't be available to stream in the U.S.
According to What's On Netflix, 1923 will be available in "most European regions, the United Kingdom, and places further afield, such as Latin America, including Brazil."
What is '1923' about?

The show stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren and follows the Dutton family back to the beginning of the 20th century, long before Yellowstone took place. Ford plays the leader of a ranch, and Mirren stars as his strong-willed wife as they journey with one another through the difficulties of the Great Depression, Prohibition, and other deafening times. The cast also stars Brandon Sklenar, Michelle Randolph, Jerome Flynn, and Sebastian Roché.
How did fans react to '1923'?

Despite the plot being centered around a critical period in American history, viewers of the show had differing opinions. The Popcornmeter, a website similar to Rotten Tomatoes, gave the show 53% and dropped its rating even lower to 46% after the second season was released. Fans described the finale as being "devastating." Is there such a thing as a show being almost too sad to watch?

According to The New York Times, Yellowstone "captured America" and is "one of the most watched scripted shows on TV." A show fan said that the show is all about greed and that "it romances the Wild West in a modern and relatable way." If 1923 is anything like Yellowstone in its portrayal of human nature and the way communities function during a time of political and social devastation, then fans should be excited that the show will be hitting such a widely used platform as Netflix.
