Dean Unglert Says He Hung Out With Kristina Schulman to “Work Through” Things
If you thought Dean Unglert was a master of mixed messages during season four of Bachelor in Paradise, you’re definitely going to have questions about his current relationship (?) with Kristina Schulman. The two were spotted hanging out together recently in Nashville, sparking rumors that they might be heating up again after Unglert’s split from Danielle Lombard. They pretty much squashed those rumors with an awkward (yet revealing) phone call on Unglert’s podcast — but now Unglert says they’re attempting to “work through” some things.
“Kristina and I hung out in Lexington and in Nashville,” Unglert told E! News when asked about a trip he took to Schulman’s hometown in Kentucky before joining a few other Bachelor Nation stars for a radio tour in Tennessee.
The 26-year-old — who went from a fan-fave on Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette to something of a villain in the BiP love triangle involving Lombard — further explained the status of their relationship by saying, “She’s great. We have a lot to work through, and I look forward to continuing to work through it with her.” We’re not sure what that means, but it sounds like maybe there’s still hope for these two, as friends if nothing else.
For the time being, Unglert is also working through his own relationship hangups. “Let’s talk about the reasons why I may not be the Bachelor this year,” he told E!, reflecting on his shortcomings and coming to a pretty solid conclusion. “It’s probably because I’m not very good at maybe handling multiple relationships at the same time.”
He hopes to change that through his podcast Help! I Suck at Dating. “Thanks to iHeart Radio, they’ve helped promote one of my podcasts, Help! I Suck at Dating, which is hopefully going to allow me to eventually become emotionally stable enough to become the Bachelor at some point in my life,” he explained.
There it is. Unglert wants to become the Bachelor at some point in the future — which would obviously mean that he’s not aiming for happily-ever-after with Schulman as they try to work things out. But maybe they’ll find a meaningful friendship as they continue their search for love elsewhere.
