Emily Henderson + Pillowfort = The Cutest Kids Playroom Ever
What do you get when the queen of interior design Emily Henderson uses products from Target’s gender-neutral Pillowfort line? Just the cutest kid-friendly playroom ever, that’s all. When the founder of the fab wedding site Green Wedding Shoes wanted to revamp her daughter’s playroom, she enlisted the help of Emily Henderson to come up with a functional, color-rich space, which — as you can see from the pics below — is both flat-out gorgeous and totally kid-friendly. The room checks all the boxes for budding artists, young or old, and you’re sure to get inspired by this design-savvy space. When it came to designing a playroom, Emily wanted to make sure it was a space the whole family could enjoy. It had to be kid-friendly but also be stylish enough to fit into the home’s modern aesthetic. Target’s Pillowfort collection fit those parameters perfectly and offered plenty of color and furniture pieces to make everyone happy.
The first step in this playroom makeover was to throw a patterned wallpaper onto the walls, then deck out the daybed with plenty of cushions. The reading nook was made extra magical with a sheer princess canopy and a sconce light for sleepover parties. A rug, bean bags and wall-mounted bookshelves keep everything at exactly the right height for little readers.
Once the daybed was finished, they brought in a table for crafting and art projects, lots of bookshelves and, of course, the signature Pillowfort teepee we all secretly want in our home. Emily let the three-year-old client pick a palette of light pink and mint green and then accented with plenty of fun throw pillows that were easy to mix and match. The end result is bright, modern and girly — just the thing you’ve come to expect from style expert Emily Henderson.
