Emma Watson Hid Copies of The Handmaid’s Tale for Fans to Find
Emma Watson is apparently a huge fan of The Handmaid’s Tale — so much so that she hid copies of the shockingly relevant story around Paris for enthusiastic readers to find. It’s not the first time the actress has led peeps on a book-focused treasure hunt, but this time around, she has folks flocking to the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, the Place de la Concorde, and even the Louvre to nab a novelty copy of the novel.
“I’m hiding copies of The Handmaid’s Tale in Paris!” Watson tweeted on Wednesday, adding the message in French (with the books emoji, natch). “Je cache des copies de La Servante Ecarlate dans tout Paris! #OSSParis @the_bookfairies 📚”

In partnership with the charity Book Fairies, the Beauty and the Beast actress walked around Paris with 100 copies of the Margaret Atwood tale, which was turned into a hit series for Hulu and green-lit for a second season. Just another reason why fans should read the original text before this dystopian tale continues.
If you’re lucky enough to be in Paris, you’ll definitely want to keep your eyes open for red-covered copies of the book tied up with green ribbons. Some eagle-eyed readers have already found a few of the precious prizes…
