Infinity Waves Are the Super Easy Curling-Iron Technique You Need to Try ASAP
Granted, we love a super sleek, straight style, but sometimes you just crave the curls. Colored curls, bouncy curls, power curls — we’ll take any expert tricks to perfect those precious rings in our mane. That’s why we’re loving the sound of Infinity Waves. This is the super easy curling-iron technique that we guarantee you’ll want to try ASAP.
Introduced by stylist Kevin Murphy at his Super Natural hair show in Las Vegas, the Infinity Wave isn’t your normal curling-iron technique, but it’s still totally simple to perfect.
Here’s how it works:
You’ll need shoulder-length hair or longer (or, ya know, some snazzy extensions) to nab these curls, and it should work on all textures of hair, although if you have fierce natural curls, you may need to straighten ‘em a bit beforehand.
Using a one-inch curling iron, hold it horizontally about an inch or two away from your head. Grab a section of hair and wrap it flat around the curling iron. Continue wrapping the strand, however cross it over the first bit and continue to wrap and cross (or in essence, weaving your hair) until you reach the end of the stand. DON’T take your time as your hair may become overexposed to heat as you wrap. Also, be sure to watch your fingertips because OUCH!
Once you’ve let the hair loose from the iron, shake it out a bit, then continue on to the rest of your mane. When everything is curled to your liking, give it a quick spritz with either a texture spray if you have fine/straight hair or an oil-infused shine spray for folks with curly, wavy, dry, or textured hair.
And that’s all there is to it. Lovely loose curls that take no time at all. Give it a try and rock those waves today!
