With spring’s official arrival, those sad winter locks are ancient history. If you’ve been feeling the urge to update your look to match those flirty spring dresses, know you’re not the only one. In fact, most of the famous faces of Hollywood have been doing the same. Emma Roberts is now a redhead, Julianne Hough got a perm and Miley Cyrus just debuted the most ’70s-inspired shag we’ve ever seen.
If you had asked us to guess what sort of spring hair makeover Miley would request, we’d have said something like opal hair or a color melt, but instead she’s opted for a full set of bangs and A LOT of extra layers. Similar to Alexa Chung’s iconic ‘do and Carly Rae Jepsen’s updated look, Miley’s pick is definitely an ode to all the bad ass ladies of rock ‘n’ roll’s heyday.
Just last week, Miley celebrated Hannah Montana’s 10th anniversary with a heartfelt message to the show on Instagram. However, she ended by saying, “Even though HM is chopped up into little tiny pieces and buried in my backyard, she will always hold a very special place in my heart!” Could this rock-inspired look be the ultimate goodbye to her pop star alter-ego? We’re saying yes.
