Repurpose Your Old iPhone into an iPod
There are few things we love more than upcycling. Recycling is all well and good and is a big part of saving the planet, but if you can make something totally new out of something old, we are 100 percent on board. If you recently upgraded to the iPhone 7, you’ve most likely got an old (but perfectly good) iPhone laying around somewhere right now. Here’s what you should do with it.
Upcycle your old iPhone into a “brand new” iPod touch. If you’ve got kids around that want a play phone, this is perfect for them. All you need to do is insert a SIM card into the old phone (if your phone was locked onto your network, make sure the SIM card is for that same network), then connect the phone to a computer with iTunes installed.
iTunes will basically “activate” the old phone and let you keep using it as an iPod touch. Once it’s activated, you can take the SIM card out and connect the old phone to a WiFi network. Bada bing, bada boom, you’ve got a new iPod touch that you can use to listen to music at the gym, as a back-up for important work or even just a distraction.
