Another day, another major moment in plus-size fashion history. Tess Holliday, a model who first made history back in January as the first 5’5” size 22 model to be signed to a major agency, will be featured on the cover of People Magazine’s Body Issue.

Since Tess was signed to the Curves section of MiLK, she’s been kind of been killing it in the modeling game. She participated in a Photoshop-free ad campaign with Torrid, has worked with Benefit Cosmetics and was the sole model for UK retailer, Yours Clothing‘s spring lookbook. We’ve been seeing Tess’ face popping up all over since the beginning of the year, but we’re getting the feeling this is the moment that’s going to shoot her to a whole new level of fame.

There are a handful of plus-size models and bloggers who have been making waves lately, but Tess stands out mainly because she also comes with a message. Before signing to a MiLK, Holliday had already garnered a massive online following by spearheading and regularly celebrating her hashtag #effyourbeautystandards. Tess often posts images of herself alongside positive messages focused around body image.

The issue doesn’t hit stands until tomorrow, but you can catch a sneak peek of her story over on People’s website. She talks about being bullied in school, attending discouraging auditions and eventually realizing she needed to carve her own path to success.
