Netflix Western Romance 'The Wrong Paris' Will Hold You Over Until 'Ransom Canyon' S2 — Watch The Trailer!

I’m not gonna lie, life has been throwing me a bunch of curveballs lately that are packing on the stress. As a result, I, for one, am in desperate need of some good old-fashioned escapism. Fortunately, I can find such an oasis by winding down with a glass of red wine and popcorn, while flipping on Netflix’s corny romantic comedy, The Wrong Paris. Starring Miranda Cosgrove, this fun, lighthearted rom-com will follow the character Dawn as she signs up for a reality TV dating series that she believes will take place in Paris, France. (Spoiler: this doesn't exactly go according to plan.)

Here's everything you need to know about The Wrong Paris, streaming on Netflix September 12, 2025.

Where can I watch The Wrong Paris?

The Wrong Paris is coming to Netflix! You can stream the movie on September 12, 2025.

What is The Wrong Paris about?

Waving her mini French flag and rocking her fancy new beret, Dawn is ecstatic to immerse herself in the capital of romance when she books a reality show she thinks will take her to "the City of Love." Yet all her plans fall to pieces when she and the other contestants realize the reality show actually takes place in Paris, Texas. A.K.A., a community that’s widely considered provincial, backward-thinking, and altogether lacking in cultural depth. (i.e, the opposite of Paris, France). On top of that, there’s nothing, like literally nothing, to do.

With nothing going on in this dead-end town, the disillusioned contestants for the reality show only really have one way to kill time: getting to know one another. Thus, forming connections, and even… falling in love? Such is the case for Miranda Cosgrove’s character, Dawn, and her dreamy love interest, Pierson Fodé. Honestly, if you want to be stuck in middle-of-nowhere Paris, Texas, you want to be stuck with Pierson Fodé.

While Dawn is determined to be eliminated from the reality show by any means necessary so she can get the heck out of this deadbeat Texan community, she discovers throughout the process that she’s falling head over heels for Trey (Fodé). As romances form and unexpected friendships unfold, Dawn begins to think signing up for this contest might not have been such a mistake after all.

Miranda Cosgrove Works Behind The Camera As Well

What makes this project especially interesting to me is that former iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove will serve as an executive producer for the rom-com, as well. As someone who has grown up watching the starlet on Nickelodeon, I’m excited to see her creative work from behind the camera for the first time.

Cosgrove, who is a major romantic comedy buff, gushes about how excited she is for fans to watch the movie. “I’m a huge Rom-Com lover, and one of the reasons I enjoy this genre so much is because of the aspect of escapism," the Despicable Me actress told People. "I hope people have fun seeing all the crazy and ridiculous physical comedy, as well as the more heartfelt moments."

I don’t know about y’all, but I am feeling majorly giddy — especially since the cowboy hats and romance of it all is making me think of Ransom Canyon!

Where did they film the wrong Paris?

The Wrong Paris filmed in Vancouver and Agassiz, in Canada, from September to October 2024. (Sounds like the wrong Texas to me!)

Stay tuned for more news on The Wrong Paris — and Ransom Canyon season 2!
