Titanic Fans Will NOT Want to Miss Celine Dion’s Billboard Music Awards Performance
Titanic fans! Get ready to fall in love and have your heart broken all over again in the best kind of way. Celine Dion (who remains the coolest, BTW) has just revealed why movie-lovers absolutely HAVE to watch this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
While there’s plenty of brand new music to celebrate at this year’s awards ceremony, Celine Dion will be showing up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Titanic, and she’ll be doing so by performing her Oscar-winning ballad “My Heart Will Go On.” Are you already getting weepy? Yeah, us too.
“This song means a lot to me, and it has played such a huge role in my career,” Dion said in a statement, according to Billboard. “I’m so grateful to the late James Horner, and to Will Jennings, for writing it and creating the opportunity for me to be part of Titanic, an amazing film whose legacy will continue for generations to come. It’s a great honor to have the opportunity to perform it on the Billboard Music Awards’ international stage, in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary.”

The announcement was also made via the singer’s Instagram page, and fans were quick to respond with comments like, “I just got chills when I read that” and “I’m so happy I can’t wait you got this ❤🎤” Not to mention, “OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG, I’M CRYING 😢😢😢😢😢💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕😢😢😢.”
Totally reasonable reactions and nothing compared to what we’ll be like when Dion performs this beloved classic (i.e. thrilled, blubbering messes).
Are you excited (like, freaking out) over the fact that Celine Dion will be performing “My Heart Will Go On” at this year’s Billboard Music Awards? Let us know @BritandCo!
