Uber Eliminates the Worst Part About Shopping With Their New Service
You know what sucks? Like, rip-your-eyes-and-hair-out sucks? Having to endure long lines at the post office to return those thought-you-loved-’em online purchases. Wouldn’t life be immensely more improved if every time you had to ship back those too-small heels you didn’t have to make that dreaded trek to the shipping outlet? Uber is experimenting with that concept, giving you the opportunity to ship those unloved items from the comfort of your bed while you’re watching Netflix.
With its new service, RETURNS powered by UberRUSH, Uber is giving you the ability to effortlessly return any and all of the pre-paid e-commerce items (still within their return window) you’ve got next to your door that you swear you’re going to ship yourself. By collecting those return items with their receipt, return label and any other necessities, all you have to do is set up a pickup address, enter the promo code RETURNS and pay the $4 fee, and a messenger will arrive to take that package(s) off your hands and send it on its way to refund land — where you can track it in real time, FYI.
Currently only available in NYC below 110th St, and only for returns with e-commerce merch (sorry, no Forever 21 Times Square refunds ATM), Uber looks like it’s trying to take a bite out of Shyp’s model. Will they succeed and transform the way we return e-commerce merch? Only time will tell.
