Okay fine, maybe you can’t actually do this *yet* but this design concept is a doozy, and one that actually seems like it could come to fruition in the not-too-far future. Presenting The Window Socket, a device that uses the sun’s rays to power your things.

Just like it sounds, the Window Socket is a plug that you attach to your window. Power is generated by the sun – also known as solar power ;)

It stores energy throughout the day, allowing you to plug in your devices and charge off of the sun all day long. The internal battery lets you save energy for later use, even if you take it off of the window.

You can keep it in your purse so that you can window-charge wherever you go meaning the convenience factor is pretty huge. Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve swooned over portable solar power gadgets. What makes this cool is how charmingly it mimics the outlets that already exist in your wall. Just imagine if you could plug into the “window” as easily as you plug into the wall. It’s definitely a cool concept.

What’s most interesting to us about the Window Socket is the tangibility of the concept. It’s so straightforward – it just might work!
