This Company Has Short Term Lease Apartments Almost Anywhere For Under $1,300 A Month

We all know how insanely frustrating (and expensive) renting can be. Finding an apartment or home to rent is a full time job in itself, followed by a year of commitment and sometimes questionable landlords — such a turn off!

Landing Standby promises to fix this. The first-of-its-kind rental company allows customers to buy into a monthly rental membership. The $1,300/mo membership gives you access to all of their fully-furnished, available properties across the world.

The company boasts a “live like a local” mentality, encouraging their members to switch up their locations and try out different accommodations. We're certainly intrigued, but...how exactly does it work?

Landing: Rent Flexible-Lease Apartments Anywhere In The U.S.

There are two tiers to the Landing membership: Standby and Standard.

  • A Standard Membership ($200/month + rent) functions like a normal rental service, with longer rentals, onsite parking, pet-friendly options and priority selection through their parent company Landing.
  • Standby Memberships ($1,295/month total), on the other hand, allow members to choose any available property until a Standard member selects it. If this happens, Standby members must select a new rental within three days, which could definitely get annoying. On the flip side, you can move into some of their properties in as quick as two days, which is a major plus for members needing to relocate ASAP.
You can access to Landing’s services in their accompanying app. Members can contact support, request a new rental, manage their reservations and more.

Replying to @gabriellemarieme I was given more than the minimum three days notice and honestly for $1295 a month to be in this gorgeous apartment I dont mind having to move @hellolanding #apartment #movingvlog #moving #hellolanding #miami #margaretskiff #landingstandby #landingstandymembership

By joining Landing, Standby members make a six month minimum commitment to live within the Landing network. If members choose to terminate their reservation before the six month mark, an early termination fee equal to 30 nights' rent is added to their final statement. Additionally, members must pay $150 for every rental change, to cover cleaning for the next guest.

Seems pretty intriguing, right? Plenty of people think so, with the idea of “rental hopping” trending across social media.

For flight attendants, travel nurses, remote workers and more, this could definitely be a great way to move quickly and with ease.

Regardless of who signs up, it'll definitely be interesting to watch this process evolve, and whether or not “rental hopping” becomes more of the norm.

I'm gearing up for a big move this summer, and in addition to finding an apartment, packing up my things, and decorating (my favorite part), there's another important step to add to my moving checklist: updating my address with everyone from my family and friends to magazine subscriptions and my bank.

If you're also preparing for a move, then you'll need to change your address too! Rather than making you scour the internet for ideas (who has time for that when you're moving?), I rounded up 12 of the places you need to change your address so you can focus on packing instead.

Change Your Address At These Places

Work + Money

  • Your Job
    • Not only will your boss need to know if you're moving (especially if you'll be OOO for a few days), but they'll need to update the records for your paycheck.
  • Tax Agencies
    • Definitely let the IRS and your accountant (if you have one) know you're moving so they won't be surprised. You can let the IRS know by adding your new address to your tax return, filling out one of their forms, or writing to them.
  • Bank + Credit Card Company
    • You don't want your card statements going to whoever moves in after you!
  • Financial Institutions
    • Your insurance providers, credit union, retirement accounts, social security (which you can do on your account), loan issuers, and accounts like PayPal and Venmo all need to know when you change your address.

Life

  • Utilities
    • This is an important one because if your electricity, water, gas, cell, internet, and cable don't know you've moved, they can't redirect their services to your new place!
  • DMV
    • Change the address on your driver's license, your vehicle and voter registrations, and your passport to make sure you can travel easily. Just call your DMV (or visit their website) to make sure you have whatever forms and fees your state requires.
  • USPS
    • Let the post office know you'll be moving and they'll be able to forward any mail that's addressed to your old home. The easiest way to change your address with the USPS is to do it on their site!

Fun

  • Subscriptions
    • Magazines, subscription boxes, and newsletters are just a few of the subscriptions to change your address with.
  • Memberships + Donations
    • This includes clubs, charities you work with, and nonprofits you donate to.
  • Retail Sites
    • There's a good chance that if you love online shopping, you saved your address on all your favorite sites. Make sure you update them to get your packages!
  • Streaming Services
    • Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, oh my! Make sure they have your new address on file for your billing statements.
  • Apps
    • Map apps often allow you to save your home address, and while this isn't the most important thing to update, it's still helpful ;).

I simply do not do scary movies. That being said, the A Quiet Place movies are one franchise I will always make an exception for. They focus on family and relationships in a such a beautiful way that I could truly shout about from the rooftops. John Krasinski saying he made the OG film as a love letter to his family? His character signing "I have always loved you" to his daughter at the end? Well, now I want to rewatch the movies — and there's no better time because A Quiet Place: Day One is coming this summer!

What is A Quiet Place: Day One about?

A Quiet Place: Day One | Official Trailer 2 (2024 Movie) - Lupita Nyong'o, Joseph Quinn

Just like the beginning of A Quiet Place II, this prequel starts on the day the Death Angels came to earth. But instead of a small town, Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn's characters are stuck in the scariest place on earth: New York City. Now they have to work together to figure out how to get out of midtown (with Lupita's cat in tow). As someone who lives in the city, the idea of having to be silent in such a loud, rowdy environment sends shivers down my spine.

When does the A Quiet Place prequel come out?

Studio apartments present some unique challenges. With only one room to decorate and everything out on display, distinguishing the kitchen from your bedroom can be overwhelming. Regardless of your storage situation, these tips will help you decorate and streamline your studio into the most stylish little space in the building!

1. Coordinate Artwork

Having matching art pairs, like this Calm Forest series by Minted designer Cait Courneya, on the walls can make a huge difference in adding continuity to your space. There are a lot of ways to hang art without ever picking up a hammer, so even renters can enjoy a sexy gallery wall. (via Minted)

2. Let in the Light

Avoid heavy curtains and add lots of light fixtures to make your studio feel larger, cleaner and more welcoming. (via Front + Main)

3. Understand the Flow

Think about how you move through the studio and adjust your furniture accordingly. The space will feel even more cramped if you keep tripping over the couch to get to your closet. With clear pathways, you'll enjoy your apartment even more (no clumsy detours!). (via Sidekix Media/Unsplash)

4. Furniture Placement

Use furniture placement to organize furnishings into smaller groups within the studio. Since you don't have walls to create boundaries, use furniture, rugs, and lighting to create separate areas while still keeping the space open and airy. (via Jon'Nathon Stebbe/Unsplash)

5. Flexible Furniture

We love multipurpose furnishings like this IKEA Malm bed frame ($399) with drawers underneath. In a small space like a studio, they can be a real lifesaver. Any piece of furniture that does double duty is a good friend to have around. (via House Mag)

6. Get Organized

If there was ever an incentive to get organized, it's living in a studio apartment where all your belongings are on display. Find some storage organizers that look respectable and then start donating all those things you don't really need. (via Brit + Co)

7. Control Clutter

We know you love those piles of throw pillows, but in a small space, decoration displays can start feeling chaotic. To avoid the clutter, choose only a few distinctive pieces to display. (via Brit + Co)

8. Make Storage Pretty

Stay organized, but look good doing it by putting stuff in a minimalist book shelf or colorful baskets and boxes. (via Brit + Co)

9. Go Vertical

Since floorspace is limited, use the walls to show off mementos or organize outdoor items with floating shelves. Shelves are perfect for rotating displays, and you can always change the look of your vignettes depending on your mood and the season. (via Brit + Co)

10. Embrace Open Storage

Even though you'll want to tuck many things away, embrace open shelving for the things you don't mind showing off. If your apartment kitchen leaves a lot of be desired, put in some open shelves and proudly display those pretty dishes. (via Brit + Co)

11. Add Plants

Not only are plants proven to increase productivity, they filter the air and create a homey atmosphere. (via Brit + Co)

12. Pops of Color

We're not saying all your furniture has to be bright yellow, but a surprising, bright color that makes an appearance in several places can make a huge difference in adding personality to a studio when space is limited. (via Brit + Co)

13. Use Mirrors to Add Depth

Mirrors are great for “doubling" your space. If you place them opposite a window, they act as a second window, reflecting double the light back into your studio. (via Brit + Co)

14. Coordinate your Rugs

One of the advantages to a small studio is not having to spend a fortune on a full-sized area rug. Having smaller coordinated rugs anchor the illusion of “rooms" and provides extra color and texture to balance out your wall decor. (via Ani Kolleshi/Unsplash)

The Real Housewives of New Yorkseason 14 and Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacywere seasons for the books. We got a peak into the lives of New York's rich and famous, both past and present, and to nobody's surprise...we want more! This long-standing, well-loved franchise saw a lot in its heyday — I mean, just look at what happened when they put the OGs together for one trip — and it continues to thrill audiences with new fabulous faces. But what can we expect from a new season of RHONY? With rumors swirling about who's set to return, here's everything we know about The Real Housewives of New York season 15.

Is "The Real Housewives of New York" coming back for season 15?

Image via Bravo

For a while, there was no official word from Bravo about whether or not we were getting more RHONY...but we're stayed hopeful! Well, all that waiting paid off because Bravo posted on Instagram that season 15 is a-go! Andy Cohen recently told Us Weeklythat the "next season" should fix some of the bumps this reboot faced, so we're excited to see what that means for the upcoming RHONY season!

Who's in the cast for "The Real Housewives of New York" season 15?

Image via Bravo

It was pretty unclear who was returning to The Real Housewives of New York. Most notably outspoken about her return (or potential lack thereof) was Jenna Lyons. She told Jimmy Fallon that she wasn't sure if she'll return for another season, which would have been a total bummer TBH! Jenna's sublime style and unique personality added so much to the show's dynamic last year, and it would definitely be missed.

LUCKILY, the entire season 14 is set to return for RHONY season 15 — Jenna included! Watch the adorable announcement here.

Reports are in that THE Rebecca Minkoff is joining the cast, too. While it's unclear if she's a friend of the show or a main cast member, I can't wait to watch this amazing female founder take the show by the horns! Meanwhile, other folks have different feelings about the new housewife.

According to Page Six, Sai De Silva isn't too interested in Minkoff's presence on the show. In what she must have thought was a private conversation, De Silva shared that she finds Minkoff to be "boring" and that she's "unresponsive" to the cast's attempts to "take her down." Whoops!

The show hasn't even started, and I already can't wait to watch this all unfold...

Is Luann de Lesseps coming back to "The Real Housewives of New York"?

Image via Bravo

Matt Rogers recently asked Countess Luann outright about the possibility of a return to the RHONY world. According to Matt, he heard that the upcoming season would have Brynn Whitfield, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, and Dorinda Medley with Ubah Hassan returning as a friend of the cast. Luann neither confirmed nor denied this IRL, but cryptically commented on Instagram this February about the rumors.

However, as of right now, Countess Luann de Lesseps isn't an announced cast season 15 cast member.

Image via Instagram

What do the other cast members think about these rumors? According to Us Weekly, Brynn Whitfield is "open to anything" when it comes to filming with current and former cast members. Meanwhile, Erin Lichy told Access Hollywoodthat they're "not joining forces with (RHONY) Legacy."

Who got fired from "RHONY"?

Image via Bravo

After filming RHONY Legacy, investigative reporting by Vanity Fairfound that Ramona Singer allegedly used a racial slur towards a Black crew member — among other racially-driven misconduct allegations from years past and present. Ramona vehemently denied the use of the slur, but was still asked not to attend BravoCon in 2023. It's very likely that her time at Bravo is now up. According to PEOPLE, Ramona also isn't employed by real estate company Douglas Elliman anymore.

Who is the richest on "The Real Housewives of New York"?

Image via Bravo

According to Cosmopolitan, Jenna Lyons is worth approximately $5 million dollars — the most net-worth of the current cast for The Real Housewives of New York. However, this could change if she decides not to return to the show! The next in line would be Brynn Whitfield, coming in at a worth of $3 million dollars.

When will "The Real Housewives of New York" season 15 air?

Image via Bravo

Allegedly filming for The Real Housewives of New York season 15 hasn't even started yet. As of February 7, Erin Lichy wasn't even sure when filming would start, according to Access Hollywood. So everything seems very TBD at the moment.

Is there a trailer for "The Real Housewives of New York" season 15?

Image via Bravo

Since filming is still up in the air, we definitely don't have a trailer yet. We're definitely keeping our eyes peeled for the moment something drops, though!

In Mother of the Bride (which you can watch on Netflix now!), Brooke Shields' Lana is surprised to learn her daughter Emma (Miranda Cosgrove) is getting married in Thailand — but she's even more surprised when she finds out Emma's future father-in-law (Benjamin Bratt) is the man who broke her heart in college. Naturally, I had to ask the cast for their best advice on running into an ex!

"I think being a decent and kind person is the first thing that you should try to do," Sean Teale, who plays Emma's fiancé RJ, says. "Keep it light if it's a stressful situation because that's the best way through anything is just being kind and decent, and then you can go away feeling okay about it."

"Yeah, I would say remain calm, try not to ramble because I've run into an ex before at the movies and yeah, I rambled," Miranda adds.

Miranda Cosgrove & Sean Teale Hung Out With Elephants During “Mother of the Bride”

Not only does Lana have to navigate her relationship drama, but she also has to deal with the fact Emma's wedding is totally taken over by social media, a concept that was really appealing to Brooke Shields from the beginning.

"It has to unfold, not necessarily in the way that it would have organically unfolded with a mother and her only daughter going to pick out the dress and going to plan the napkins and all those things that you sort of dream about doing for your daughter," Brooke says. "So that was a really interesting thing, for that to be usurped and sort of [replaced with] somebody else's ideas."

"The script I read, [Emma's] vocation was creating this amazing website that all the sponsors were excited about," Benjamin Bratt says. "But over the course of shooting it, I think the filmmakers recognized that it's not about websites anymore, it's actually about TikTok and social media."

Ironically, the cast didn't find themselves online too much during filming! "I used my phone a lot less than I would have," Sean Teale says. "Especially during the shoot, we spent our whole time messing around if we weren't working."

"Especially with the time change too," Miranda Cosgrove adds. "It took a while to get used to that. So it kind of just makes you feel like you're off the grid. Being in Thailand was like a little getaway."

The fact that Emma is basically a social media star means I HAD to ask Miranda about iCarly, and whether Emma and Carly would get along. "I definitely think that they would be super close," she agrees. "But I think that Emma would probably wanna, like, manage Carly or something. Like she'd wanna manage her social media and come up with ideas and stuff for her channel."

Brooke Shields Spills On Working With Chad Michael Murray For Mother of the Bride

Miranda Cosgrove (and Brooke Shields for that matter) isn't the only member of the cast who's experienced the limelight from a young age. The cast also includes Chad Michael Murray, and as a One Tree Hill and A Cinderella Story STAN, I had to ask what it was like working with the Gilmore Girls actor. "You know what, I'm like 'Those abs have got to be painted on,'" Brooke jokes. "No, you know what was amazing was seeing him with his family and his stunning wife...It's picture perfect."

"[The story is about] that bond between parents and children, and many of us, including Chad, are kind of on board with it from our own personal experiences," Benjamin Bratt says. "A rom-com doesn't really succeed unless it has that very delicate, hard-to-achieve balance of outrageous humor that's gonna make you laugh out loud and real humanity."

"Brooke is...one of the most generous kind, empathetic, inclusive, enthusiastic actors I've ever worked with," he continues. "She loves what she's doing, she's always checking in with everyone, not just with other actors, but with the craft service person, 'Are you okay?' She's so maternal in that way. And it's really not an exaggeration, but it creates an environment where you really feel supported."

"For me, it's like, ok, it's pretty great to have Chad and Benjamin vying for your attention," Brooke adds. "To be this age of an actress and sort of be like, 'Oh my God, not one but two of them get to fight for me?' Like, that's sweet and funny."

"I have worked with men in the past and they're threatened by a female lead or there's a delicate nature to it," she continues more seriously. "It's tricky. And you see these two beautiful men who take their job really seriously bring brilliant nuance to the dramatic scenes, the funny scenes, all of that, who are okay also being a bit more of an object of desire as well. I mean, the slow motion of [Chad] putting spray on his body and [Benjamin] coming out of the shower, it's something that you don't see a lot, you usually see it in the reverse."

"Feel free to objectify any time," Benjamin jokes. "If Brooke is gonna [do it] I have zero issue with that."
