8 Discontinued Dunkin Flavors Fans Are Begging To Return

Discontinued Dunkin Flavors

Dunkin' has been a go-to for coffee lovers for decades, and its changing menu of drinks features everything from comforting classics to bolder creations.

But with all the excitement of trying something new and exciting comes a harsh downside: some favorite flavors disappear without warning and have no hopes of return.

Over the years, Dunkin' has quietly pulled the plug on various beloved drinks, leaving loyal customers pretty upset. Let's take a walk down memory lane and revisit some of the most missed Dunkin' flavors that fans of the brand still talk about (and secretly hope will make a comeback).

Scroll to see all the discontinued Dunkin' flavors we'd love to make a comeback!

1. Vanilla Chai Latte

While Dunkin' still offers a Chai Latte, diehard customers know it's just not the same as the Vanilla Chai Latte, which is also known as the Vanilla Spice.

This creamy, cozy blend featured a spiced flavor with rich notes of vanilla and was made from a special powdered mix. In fact, it was so easy to prepare that employees could reportedly make it with the press of a button, but that didn't stop Dunkin' from discontinuing the flavor option.

Of course, there are newer chai offerings, but plenty of patrons still miss the original.

2. Blueberry Pomegranate Refresher

The Blueberry Pomegranate Refresher first hit the seasonal menu in 2021. It had a base of green tea with vitamin B and fruit concentrates, offering a crisper and tart beverage to the coffee chain's repertoire.

Unfortunately, though, like many seasonal hits, this one didn't stick around for long. Despite fans rallying on social media and even launching a petition for the Blueberry Pomegranate Refresher's return, it hasn't reappeared on the menu, and it remains unclear if Dunkin' has any plans to revive this drink.

3. Dunkaccino

Few discontinued Dunkin' drinks have sparked as much nostalgia as the Dunkaccino. This beverage mixed hot chocolate and coffee into a single drink that struck the perfect balance between rich and energizing.

The Dunkaccino was removed from the Dunkin' menu in 2022, and its exit left many customers disgruntled. Some have tried to mimic it by mixing Dunkin's hot chocolate with espresso and adding whipped cream, but the results still fall short of the OG.

4. Coffee Coolatta

The Coffee Coolatta was once a summertime staple for coffee drinkers who wanted their caffeine cold and sweet. It was the ideal frozen pick-me-up for sweltering commutes to work or humid errand runs.

Yet, in 2017, Dunkin' made the controversial decision to retire the beverage and released the Frozen Coffee in its place. Nonetheless, some fans believe that it's just too sugary in comparison to the Coffee Coolatta.

5. Hazelnut Swirl

If you used to order your coffee with a splash of Hazelnut Swirl, then you know how heartbreaking it was when Dunkin' removed it from the menu. Unlike the current hazelnut flavor shot, the swirl was sweet and creamy, almost like a dessert in a cup.

Dunkin' still offers the hazelnut shot, which is dairy-free and unsweetened, but customers insist it's not the same and are still holding out hope that the swirl might return one day.

Dunkin' Oreo Hot Chocolate

6. Oreo Hot Chocolate

The Oreo Hot Chocolate was smooth, rich, and decadent, perfect for keeping you warm on a chilly winter night. It was first introduced in 2016 and became a seasonal favorite among countless Dunkin' lovers. Then, it vanished from menus in 2022.

Even worse, while Oreo-flavored hot chocolate might sound like something you could easily replicate at home, many fans have apparently tried and failed to recreate the drink. Whether they used store-bought Oreo mixes or stirred crushed cookies into their cocoa, the result simply didn't hit the same.

7. Peach Passion Refresher

Launched during the summer of 2020, the Peach Passion Refresher was a seasonal favorite that gained quite a following for its light, fruity flavor. Fans loved it since it wasn't too sweet and tasted kind of like a chilled Peach Tea Snapple.

But yet again, Dunkin' retired it around 2022, and there's no substitution for it available on the current menu. In the meantime, you can try blending green tea, peach juice, and passion fruit purée, adding a little bit of simple syrup to up the sweetness as needed.

8. Chocolate Stout

Last but not least is the Chocolate Stout, an unexpected beverage released in 2021 that set out to capture the malty notes of a classic stout (minus the alcohol).

This drink offered a slightly bitter flavor that was definitely different from the rest of Dunkin's menu, and even though not everyone was a fan, those who loved the Chocolate Stout became pretty obsessed.

Regardless, Dunkin' no longer offers the beverage and has instead pivoted to alcoholic beverages with its Spiked line. So, those who miss the Chocolate Stout can try out the Dunkin' Spiked Mocha Coffee.
