Why Drew Barrymore Might Be the Next Jenny McCarthy
Drew Barrymore may be newly divorced, but that doesn’t mean she’s given up on love. In fact, in addition to taking some quality time out to do some yoga with her daughters, the rom com staple has just signed on to narrate NBC’s First Dates, a new dating show that is co-executive produced by none other than Ellen Degeneres (speaking of, have you seenthe talk show host’s crib?)
Based on a UK television show of the same name and giving us flashbacks to the golden era that was MTV’s Singled Out, the show will see Drew help first-time daters from across the US of “all ages and backgrounds” navigate their meetings at Chicago’s uber-romantic mk restaurant during the span of a single evening.
Each episode will see the featured couple(s) make their final decisions about whether they want to see each other again or keep on steppin.’ Considering that more Americans are online dating than ever before, this is one show we can all probably relate to. NBC has yet to release a premiere date for First Dates, but no matter — anything that starts with Drew + Ellen has us 100% on board.
