If you've been on this site for awhile, you probably know that we are huge Google Docs nerds. We use it for everything from to-do lists to research projects. We even used it to draft this very post!
That's why we were (nearly literally) jumping up and down with excitement when we read this recent TechCrunch post detailing how to add a linen background to your Google Docs. As designers and art enthusiasts, we couldn't be more excited to make our boring, white docs a little more tasteful. Here's the skinny on how to do it — it just takes a few seconds.
Once you're done, all of your Google Docs will have a lovely serif header/title, and will use a dark linen background. Note that the presentations and spreadsheets don't use the linen, but do feature an updated typeface in the title line.
Not a fan of linen? If the team at Google isn't already doing it, you can be sure that more developers around the web will be designing cool Google Docs backgrounds for future use. We'll make sure to keep an eye out so that you're posted if and when that happens.
Happy Doc-ing! :)
