Google Trips Is Your Tour Guide in a New City — Without Internet
So you have finally booked your dream trip to Europe. Your hotel and flight are all squared away, and Mr. Fluffers has a cat sitter. Now your only problem is figuring out what you’re going to do when you get there. Google Trips is a new companion app that helps you figure out what to do, eat and see when you arrive at your destination. One of the best features the app offers is the ability to download your trip so you can see everything, all in one place — including any online reservations and maps.
Trips also includes previously curated day plans for the top 200 cities in the world — itineraries featuring the most popular attractions, all based on visits by previous travelers. If you choose an itinerary and decide there are some things you would rather forgo, you can customize your day plan. For example, if you know you want to see the London Eye, you can have Google Trips map your day plan around that centerpiece. Just press the “+” button in the day plan’s tile to jump to a map view which displays all the top attractions near the Eye. When you tap and pin the Eye, the app will automatically fill in your itinerary for you. It even comes with a magic wand feature, so you can pin as many sights as you would like, and have a new day plan generated with each tap that is more tailored to your needs.
Google Trips keeps track of all the really important stuff about your trip, as well, like flight plans and hotel, car and restaurant reservations. These are all automatically pulled from your Gmail account and organized for you. They are always available, even without WiFi. Watch the official promo below.
