We’re all about makers (duh) so we obviously *love* to see small businesses and indie shops succeed. The latest Cinderella story centering around that theme is one of our absolute fave e-commerce shops Of a Kind. You may remember their spring Target collab? Well, 2015 is this company’s year because they’ve just been bought by homegoods powerhouse Bed Bath & Beyond. Four for you, Of a Kind ;)

Of a Kind founders Claire Mazur and Erica Cerulo shared in a recent email blast that their co has been acquired by Bed Bath & Beyond. The ladies of the (up until now) indie company that brings the work of up-and-coming designers to people worldwide through specially-commissioned pieces clearly couldn’t contain their excitement in said email. “We’re thrilled to announce that Of a Kind is now part of the Bed Bath & Beyond family. What does this mean, exactly? Well, first and foremost, it means that the BB&B crew thinks that Of a Kind is really special (blushing, chills, etc.) and that they want to 1) keep it that way and 2) give us much-needed support so we can really carpe that diem.”

We’re pumped for the added support of a power player like Bed Bath & Beyond, but does this mean the purveyor of gorgeous accessories, apparel, gifts, home goods and jewelry will soon be available at brick-and-mortar locations?! Sadly, not so fast. While Claire + Erica promise more “limited-edition creations, that support the work and careers of emerging designers we love” the duo isn’t planning on a IRL Of a Kind shopping experience *just* yet.

Erica told Racked, “For now, there’s no plans to stock Of a Kind merchandise in any Bed Bath & Beyond stores. For the time being, we’re focused on growing Of a Kind’s e-commerce presence.” Well, at least we’ll have a more expanded e-commerce site to look forward to while we wait to get our hands on Of a Kind goods during our weekend shopping excursions.

Are you keeping your fingers crossed as tightly as we are that there will *at least* be holiday Of a Kind gifts at your local Bed Bath & Beyond by the end of 2015? Share those thoughts in the comments.
