Sprint Has a New Plan That Will Be Every iPhone Lover’s Dream
Yesterday we revealed the likely drop date for Apple’s latest iteration of the iPhone to be September 18 (let the countdown commence), and for many of you iPhone 6 owners who upgraded during the last round, the news might have given you a serious case of FOMO. According to Apple Insider, 20 percent of iPhone users have the latest handset — that’s one in five. We’ve got some good news, folks. Sprint just rolled out a new promo plan that allows iPhone users (yes, even iPhone 6 users!) to upgrade EVERY. YEAR. It’s called the iPhone Forever plan and this is how it works.
Just make sure you have the iPhone 6/6 Plus before September 10. Then, trade it in before December 31 in order to lock in their special promotional upgrade rate of $15 a month for the following year (the iPhone Forever plan’s monthly rate is usually $22). And success! You’ll have the 6S! (ha, see what we did there?) Something to keep in mind though, these prices only apply to the 16GB options — so if you really love your apps and photos, prepare to shell out a little more.
Early upgrade plans aren’t new, but Sprint’s plan is the first that was created exclusively towards iPhone lovers. T-Mobile users, your phone company has a similar JUMP! On Demand deal that’ll let you jump from the 6 to the 6S for $15 monthly installments. AT&T Next allows users to upgrade early in 12, 18 or 24 month increments, which they implemented prior to the release of the iPhone 6 and doesn’t always guarantee you’ll be able to trade in right when the latest iPhone handset drops. And Verizon’s Edge plan lets you pay off your early upgrade for $27 per month.
