It鈥檚 Tuesday and time for us to share some helpful tech tricks to make your life a little better 鈥 and in this case, it might actually save it. You can actually add your medical identification to the lock screen of your iPhone. This tool maybe prove聽particularly useful to those living with chronic and life-threatening conditions like diabetes or severe allergies. This tip is聽also聽good聽to know in case you鈥檙e ever trying to help someone as a good samaritan and need to know what their medical conditions might be and how to access that info. Here鈥檚 how you can do that.

First, access the pre-loaded Apple Health app on your iPhone. From there, tap on the icon in the bottom right hand corner that says 鈥淢edical Identification.鈥 Here, you can edit things like your name, date of birth, medical conditions, notes and more. At the top of the screen, toggle 鈥淪how When Locked鈥 to on.

Next, lock your phone by聽pressing聽the right side button. Now, wake you your phone again by pressing the same button again. You should be very familiar with this screen where you input your code. Tap on 鈥淓mergency鈥 in the bottom left corner.

That should take you to this聽white screen that allows you to contact emergency services from the locked screen. In the bottom left hand corner, you click on 鈥淢edical ID鈥 to access all the info you had set earlier in the Health app.

While we hope you will never have to use this, it鈥檚 always good to be safe.
