This Is the Tattoo Trend an Expert Says You’ll Want to Get in on in 2017
Anyone who’s ever gotten a tattoo knows how addictive they can be, so while we found puh-lenty of inspo in 2016 — what with floral ear tattoos, watercolors, surrealist designs and the like — we’re always game for MORE.
Predicting the next big thing in tattoos like Pantone predicts colors (it’s Greenery this year, in case you haven’t heard), Ryan says 2017 will be all about “freehand artistry” (designs done by talented tattoo artists without sketches or stencils) and “morphing tattoos,” or “two designs visually seen as one tattoo.”

While it’s far from specific, we can certainly appreciate the fact that it’s clearly going to be a great year for creativity (which of course, we’re ALL about), both for us and our artists. With freehand giving your personal inkmasters the freedom to let their work flow through them and morphing allowing you to fuse your ideas into one giant masterpiece, it’s the perfect recipe for originality — and isn’t that the whole point of tattooing in the first place? To express your individuality through body art?
