ThredUP Is Offering Non-Subscription Goody Boxes, So You Can Try Before You Buy
Thrifting just got a whole lot easier! We already loved fashion resale site ThredUP for putting an end to our days of digging through overpacked racks or sorting through disorganized heaps to find a gem of an outfit, and now the self-proclaimed largest “online consignment and thrift store” is making things even easier by allowing its customers to try things on before they purchase. Yes!
Meet Goody Boxes, ThredUP’s response to one of the biggest difficulties of online shopping: finding goods that actually fit without having to shell out an arm and a leg first.
Here’s how it works. For a one-time $20 non-refundable deposit, you’ll get to take a quick style quiz about which trends, styles, and brands you like.
You’ll also get to choose between multiple tiers of spending or specific types of boxes. For example, you can choose between fancy boxes, which come with high-end goods, or more casual options full of workwear or winter essentials.
From there, ThredUP uses a fancy algorithm to sort through 35,000 brands and more than two million products to create 10 to 20 perfect ensembles. A ThredUP stylist will give them the final once-over before the items are packed and sent straight to your door.
You get to decide what you like and want to keep and return what you don’t at no additional charge, since your deposit covers shipping and the box assembly fee. If you *do* decide to keep items from your box, your deposit will also be applied toward your purchase.
Since it’s not a subscription service, you won’t be billed automatically for anything else, and you won’t need to call and opt out.
We may never visit a brick-and-mortar store again!
Will you test out the Goody Boxes? What’s the best thing you’ve ever found secondhand? Tell us @BritandCo!
