I’m so tired of all the cookie-cutter romance movies, where boy meets girl/boy pursues girl/boy and girl live happily ever after as they ride off into the sunset. Yawn! Okay, well maybe not totally sick of them, but I would like to watch something wholly original for a change! That’s where Moonlight comes in. In this Oscar-winning film, romance blooms in the most unexpected of places. It’s gut-wrenching, thought-provoking, and will leave you in pieces. The New York Times knew what they were doing when they added it to the top 100 list of the greatest 21st-century films.

The Wolf of Wall Street

Every handful of years, a film emerges that has the words “artistic masterpiece” written all over it. The Wolf of Wall Street is easily one of those movies. It’s no wonder it was ranked by the New York Times as one of the top 100 films from the 21st century. It’s just that epic. And chaotic. And anarchaic. And fun. Plus, Leonardo DiCaprio delivers one of his most outlandish performances yet in this hedonistic Scorsese hit.

Just Go With It

I don’t know why, but whenever I watch Just Go With It (which I’ve seen way more times than is socially acceptable), I get this immediate rush of serotonin. It’s simply one of those feel-good rom coms where you can just shut off your brain for an hour and a half, and lose yourself on the white sandy beaches with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler’s charms to guide you.

Plus, although it’s easy to dismiss this film as just another goofy, raunchy Sandler movie (and in many ways it totally is), it’s also fair to say that the chemistry between Aniston and Sandler in this movie is magnetic. Like, scarily so. Yeah, I said it. These two were born to play love interests. Ross Geller? You’ve got some competition, my friend.

Stand By Me

Stand By Me, based on the iconic Stephen King novel The Body, is a gut-wrenching coming-of-age tale about the power of friendship and found families. It’s no wonder this 1980s hit left Stephen King trembling with emotions after he left the theater. To this day, the renowned author considers Stand By Me the greatest film adaptation of any book he’s ever written. And honestly? It’s not hard to see why.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

The world has been throwing us a handful of ugly curveballs lately. With all the chaos that’s been going on in the news lately, I feel more tempted than ever to flip the channel and lose myself in a silly movie, if only for a few hours. Fortunately, Paul Blart: Mall Cop does just the trick. I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago after a particularly stressful day, and I was honestly surprised by how cute the movie was. Sure, it’s goofy and at times obnoxious, but at the core, there’s a whole lot of heart here!

With all the hype around Wicked: For Good, I can't help wanting to watch all the Wizard of Oz movies! The Wiz — starring legends like Diana Ross and Michael Jackson – is a musical theatre classic that puts a whole new spin on Dorothy's trip to Oz. With vibrant scenery, incredible music, and phenomenal dancing, you definitely don't wanna skip this on your watch list!

Bring It On

How many times can I watch Bring It On? I fear the limit does not exist! Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union come together for the cheer movie of the millennium, bringing us all the best spirit fingers, back tucks, and beautifully 2000s vibes. If you already have "Brr, it's cold in here!" stuck in your head...sorry, not sorry!
