The Bachelor‘s Vanessa Grimaldi and Nick Viall have both been honest about the difficulties in trying to move on since ending their engagement in August. But while Viall is still struggling with the single life, it seems that Grimaldi is moving on: Her rep has confirmed that she is spending time with NHL hockey player Brendan Gallagher of the Montreal Canadiens.
“They’ve been talking and hanging out together,” the reality show winner’s rep confirmed to ET. “They’re cute. It’s all relatively new.”
Grimaldi, 30, is a Montreal native, while Gallagher, 25, was born in Edmonton, Alberta, and has been with the Canadiens franchise since 2010.
CBC Montreal reporter Sarah Leavitt also tweeted that she saw the pair spending time together in Montreal. “After breaking off engagement, Bachelor winner Vanessa Grimaldi hanging out w/@BGALLY17,” she tweeted. Gallagher did not pose for a picture but did offer to take one, she said.
Bachelor fans watched as Viall proposed to Grimaldi on the season 21 finale in March 2017, but were never fully on board with their relationship. Their After the Final Rose interview was tense AF, and during Viall’s stint on DWTS, he grabbed his gal, who was in the audience, and planted an awkward kiss on her.
“When you fall in love with someone with all that you have, it’s hard to let go,” Grimaldi admitted following the pair’s split. By the sounds of it, she’s starting to pick up those pieces — and maybe Viall, who still wishes he got his fairy-tale ending, will be next.
