Last week, Disney debuted a new teaser trailer and poster for A Wrinkle in Time, the upcoming movie based on Madeleine L鈥橢ngle鈥檚 beloved classic. Both were out of this world, but the teaser was just to whet our appetite for the full trailer, which dropped during the 2017 American Music Awards and is already taking us on the magical journey of a lifetime.

The new trailer was also shared by the movie鈥檚 director, Ava DuVernay, who tweeted, 鈥淲ho Gets To Be The Hero? The new trailer for @WrinkleInTime is here! #BeAWarrior.鈥

In the clip, we鈥檙e whisked right into an adventure that sees Meg Murray (Storm Reid) setting out to save her scientist father, played by Star Trek and Wonder Woman actor Chris Pine.

Helped on her way by three mysterious beings, Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling), Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon), and Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), Meg must be more than a hero 鈥 she must be a warrior.

Fans couldn鈥檛 contain their excitement over the trailer. 鈥淢y childhood just hit me in the gut,鈥 one person wrote in response to DuVernay鈥檚 tweet. 鈥淩eading this book at bedtime with my dad. Seeing this now, with a little girl that could have been me鈥.. I鈥檓 crying. Thank you. Thank you so much.鈥

No doubt those words mean a lot to Reid, who previously told Entertainment Weekly, 鈥淚t鈥檚 just surreal because I get to empower other little African-American girls around the world and say that you can be a superhero and you rock and you can conquer the world and you are beautiful just the way you are and your flaws are nothing and you鈥檙e awesome. It feels really good to be able to inspire not only little girls [but] everyone.鈥

A Wrinkle in Time will hit theaters on March 9, 2018.
